John Buscema's Silver Surfer Artisan Edition

IDW Artist additions are fantastic if you can afford them and have a place to display them - but these artisan books are a really nice alternative.

This is such a great display of his work! Definitely a great buy for the price, really exceptional. Highly recommend!

What I really love about this series of black and white illustrations, are the draftsmanship in the highlighted artist. I love seeing the precise lines inked next to coffee stains or white out marks showing the artists craft. I love seeing the rough work of talented artists

I will only say that they should do all of Buscema's work in black and white from the Silver Surfer, it is a real shame that the original cartoon is not in this size format, but in black and white. The lines, the shadows, the art is incredible.

Drawn by an great artist...nothing like what's done today.

A great collection of three Silver Surfer comics done by scanning in the original black and white sheets that Buscema drew. There are 5 pages which are not original but a printed black and white copy has been substituted for continuity sake. Great book worth every penny.

The Silver Surfer was created by Jack Kirby, but Mr. Buscema carried it into many great pieces of art! The Silver Surfer in his original series had a short run. Not because it wasn’t enjoyed, but because of the popularity where people were reading the books where everyone could hear them. Over the radio, but Marvel wasn’t getting financial benefits from it. You should, if you didn’t know, check out John Buscema’s other collections of art through the Marvel years! Beautiful work.

Tem diversas anotações do Buscema para o Stan Lee, mostrando que muito da decupagem da história partia dos artistas também. E a arte final de Sal Buscema sobre o desenho do irmão é impecável! IMPERDÍVEL!

i love the content of this book . but i am disappointed in arrived with damaged corners

This was really worth the wait. (I pre-ordered it back in February. ) I have been besotted with the Silver Surfer since it first came out and the opportunity to see monochrome reproductions of John Buscema's original pages was irresistible. These have been scanned in colour so you can see underlying blue pencilling, whiteout and ink gradients as well as the work of a master at the top of his game.Although the original boards were almost twice the size of this reproduction this is a beautifully designed and presented book printed on quality paper at an affordable price. I do hope IDW follows this up with another book with more of the Surfer stories in this format for fans who don't have the budget or the space for the Artist's Edition.I cant recommend this highly enough. Buscema's reputation as the Michaelangelo of comics was deserved and warranted.

Another good publication from IDW would have been nice if issue one was the complete story, other wise just as good as any of the other books in the series I strongly recommend Kirby's Fantastic four volume
