OXO Good Grips Silicone Jar Spatula - Oat

This is a must have if you are working with sourdough starters and mason jars. It is definitely made well, sturdy and has a triangular edge to scrape the bottoms and a more rounded edge on the other side for the sides and any other surface you may need it for. I’ve tried using regular scrapers in my mason jars and they did not seem to get everything out, but this is definitely a game changer. I definitely suggest getting this if you need to get into deeper jars.

This is the small spatula I should have bought when I bought another brand first. Oxo is a good quality that never disappoints. This is rigid enough to get all the peanut butter out of the jar. (The other one I got before this was very floppy and wouldn't scrap the bottom/edges well.) It is easy to clean - just pop it in the dishwasher. The handle length is good for the jumbo club store peanut butter jars. I wish it came in other colors, but this was fairly neutral, I guess.

Elevates my sourdough adventure! Best little spatula to stir my starter and scrape down the sides of my Weck jar that contains my starter, “Max.” Also wonderful for scooping my discard, “Morris,” out of his Weck container to make cookies, breads, muffins, and other delightful things that can be made with my sourdough leftovers.

Overall a very good product in use and quality. Everything I've used it for, it has handeled without issue. I'm only removing a 1/2 star for it's aesthetics, as it is very blah looking, even in a drawer full of other plastic spatulas and utensils. If you just need a quality spatula and don't care how it looks, this will do the job.

This product works exactly as advertised. I make a week's worth of overnight oats at a time using 16 oz wide-mouth Mason jars. I used to just use a big spoon to stir them, but I could never get into the bottom corners of the jars. There were always clumps of chia seeds and dry ingredients stuck in the bottom corners. I just couldn't easily reach them without a ton of extra effort and usually making a mess at the same time. ​I finally broke down and bought this OXO spatula, and it’s a game-changer. The shape is perfect for getting into those tight spots and scraping the sides clean so everything gets mixed together perfectly. ​One of the best things about it is that it's all one solid piece of silicone. There are no seams or cracks where the head meets the handle, so there's nowhere for food to creep in and get stuck. It’s a lot more sanitary and makes cleanup a breeze. ​It’s a simple, sturdy tool that does the job better than anything else I’ve tried. If you’re doing meal prep in jars like I am, don’t even hesitate, just go ahead get it, you won't regret it.

This jar spatula works exactly as it should! I have been buying the 3lb jar of peanut butter at a warehouse store and using a standard knife to spread the peanut butter. That was ok for maybe the top 1/4 or the jar but as soon as the level was lower than the length of the knife blade I had to reach into the jar so I ended up with peanut butter all over my hand. I didn’t notice that I was leaving a smear of peanut butter all around the inside of the jar. With this tool I easily scraped all sides into a usable dab and I had no problem getting the peanut butter on the bottom. I am so glad I purchased it!

Long handle makes it easy to reach to the bottom of jars. Thin edge makes lifting the sides of whatever you are cooking or mixing easy. Silicone makes it durable and easy to clean.

I bought this for cleaning out my sourdough starter jars, works perfectly, very sturdy but flexible as well. It’s my go-to spatula now, will definitely consider buying it in other sizes.
