Billy's Bootcamp: Cardio Inferno

Good Supplementary Workout
For me, Billy's Bootcamp: Cardio Inferno is a bit disappointing only because when I read the title, "Cardio" I expect non-stop heart-pumping exercise. That is not what this DVD is about. It should be retitled: Resistance Inferno to give the purchaser a better idea of what he/she will be receiving.Anyone who has done Tae Bo before and likes Billy Blanks' style will also enjoy watching Billy work out with his team of "recruits." The workout provided here is about 52 minutes long including a warm-up that includes on-the-floor leg stretches and a cool-down/motivational talk that goes on for about 8 minutes. The actual "cardio" portion of this DVD includes the usual punches and kicks, introduced slowly at first and then ramped up to a faster, cardio pace. Thrown in along with these moves are many resistance exercises, particularly for the stomach area (washboard abs and knee raises) and the legs-(roundhouse, side kicks, front and back kicks--and inner thigh scoop). The slow/fast progression works well. However, there are times when Billy explains something for too lengthy a time, breaking the action and rhythm of the movements. In one instance, I found myself running in place just to make sure that I just didn't come to a dead standstill. Billy does encourage each participant to "Keep your legs moving," but at times the talking gets to be too much and frustration takes over. There is a minimal amount of floor exercise in this workout--wish Billy had added more to this.Bottom line? Billy's Bootcamp: Cardio Inferno is more like a fast paced resistance workout rather than a full-fledged Cardio session. If you mentally change the name of this DVD, it just may work for you. Those looking for a Cardio DVD try: Billy Blanks: Tae Bo Advanced or Billy Blanks: Tae Bo Cardio Explosion for more of what you might expect. Recommended with reservations.Diana Faillace Von Behren"reneofc"

Should be titled Cardio Kickboxing, Intermediate....
I guess when I read the title of this DVD and skimmed the description (burns up to 800 calories an hour), I was excited, thinking this was a non-stop move'n and grove'n workout. I will admit, I did work up a sweat...and the some of the moves are GREAT to tone your abs, glutes, and thighs (most women's problem areas :), but like other reviewers said, there are far too many breaks! If BB kept up the intensity for a bit longer in the cardio segments of each exercise, I could see this workout being called Cardio INFERNO! But it was like after each exercise there was a brief break...too long though. I do jog in place or do jumping jacks in between, but its just annoying I have to supplement what should be a nonstop DVD...I tried this DVD, because I really like some of Billy Blanks Jr's workouts (on Comcast On Demand)..BBJ workouts (for me) are more non-stop, and have funky, upbeat music. One drawback about Cardio Inferno is also the lack of background music....the whole duration of the DVD is the group counting military-style, "1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8"..now that is motivating in a way, but for the entire DVD its too repetitive. I do enjoy BB's encouragement throughout the video, but at times he lingers on a bit too long...Like others, I'm a young mom with a 2 yr old, so I need every minute to be as non-stop as possible..I do this workout usually in the morning before work so my time is limited. If BB cut some breaks, and backed off on some of the pep-talk, I'd give this DVD 5 stars. One other reviewer mentioned the blond chic in the front annoying..I kind of thought this as well..I mean she has a great figure, but BB keeps refering to her throughout the video..Overall good workout, you will sweat, and it will tone you, but if your looking for more of a non-stop cardio workout Inferno is not it....

Great Workout!
I do this work out, Tae Bo Ripped Extreme, and Tae Bo Cardio Explosion each week. This is the easiest of the three. It is nice to have an easier day in the mix, for a change. If you fast forward through the slow stretching in the beginning and skip it in the end you can finish this work out in about 40-45 minutes. I am in good shape so I find this work out to be only somewhat challenging so I do change parts of it to make it more challenging and then it is just fine. However, if you were getting in shape you would probably find it more difficult. I still really like it because it does provide a good work out mixed with my more difficult Tae Bo DVDs mentioned above. About 75% the way through a portion of this workout he starts to talk WAY TOO MUCH which is annoying but I just fast forward through those parts. As you get used to the work out you too will be able to know when he is going to start talking too much and will likely want to fast forward as well. It is certainly not a deal breaker just a little FYI. I recommend this DVD!

Good TaeBo to add to the mix
As with many other TaeBo enthusiasts I've got to say Advanced is still my favorite, but seeing as it's apparently never coming to DVD I'll have to deal. I bought this DVD hesitantly because of the mixed reviews but wanted to add a new Tae Bo to the rotation because you can only do the same routine so many times before it gets old so now I switch it up between this, TaeBo Amped, TaeBo bootcamp, and yoga. It gives you a great cardio workout. I'm not sure those who wrote reviews about not sweating or it being too slow were watching this workout cause I definitely couldn't make it through it the first time and I've been doing TaeBo on and off for years now!! Buy it! For less than $10 you won't be disappointed!!!!

Nothing new.
This is just a remake of the old (and brilliant) Tae Bo Advanced......but not nearly as good as its not nearly as hard. This DVD still feels dated. Sorry Billy, you've disappointed me this time.

Pretty good workout
Unlike some of Billy's other videos, there's not a lot of complicated moves and balancing/hopping on one foot, just some good hard moves that make you sweat. After a few viewings I started to hold 1 lb weights to get an extra burn, which really added to the workout. He ends with a prolonged squat to stretch the hamstrings, not as long as Bootcamp Cardio but still challenging. Overall, a pretty good workout with no extra equipment.

Good Cardio!
I very much enjoy this workout. It definitely works the whole body, but I find this to be especially excellent for the legs. There are lots of good kicks and knee moves, and I always find lower body moves to be super fun.

Billy Kicks Butt
Billy's BootCamp Cardio Inferno is littery that... it is probably one of the most challenging workouts that my husband and I have ever done. My husband loves Billy Blanks and enjoys the powerful "martial arts like" moves. You'll feel like you'll burned off a thousand calories after this workout!
