My daughter is in first grade and wanted a new backpack this year. She loves this one! It's soft, cute, and has plenty of pockets to keep her school papers separate from supplies, snacks, and more. There's enough space to fit a hoodie, mittens, and scarf on those cold days, as well as a toy, snack, and her schoolwork. The netting for the water bottle is a little tight, but loosens up a bit over time. The shoulder straps are nice - soft and padded, and very comfortable.

Up until this bag, my daughter's book bags would last about 6 months if we were lucky. She's rough with her book bags, so we'd buy one before the school year started and usually need a new one by Christmas. But NOT THIS BAG! THIS BAG IS AMAZING! It is so well made that it looks brand new, even through we are starting on on third school year with it! The bottom is super reinforced, the straps are durable, the zippers work great...I can't say enough about how awesome this bag is. It made it through 3rd grade and 4th grade without a scratch, rip or tear, and it still looks brand new for 5th grade. I came back to amazon specifically to rave about this bag. It will last you years and look fantastic!

It’s auper cute. I love cats! But when I opened it up from the box my husband walked in and asked what the smell was. I smelled something weird too. Opened the bag and smelled it. FISH smell. Uh I didn’t want a scratch and sniff bag. Whatever, I ended up using it. I got a lot of compliments from coworkers (I work at a kids hospital.) I hate the straps. I wish it was all black. And the pockets in the side of the bag are both small and tight. I had to squeeze my bottle in every time.

I bought this for traveling and it's awesome! I am 43 going on 12 so I wanted a fun backpack. It's got a little sparkle but also very functional. The straps are padded a bit and it didn't hurt walking through the madhouse that is the Atlanta Airport. I will definitely get a couple other colors!
