without having unnecessary ingredients. My 3 year old boys lost 2 ...
I began feeding my two 3 year olds this because it is among the highest in protein out there. Our vet advised feeding our cats a mostly wet food diet high in protein, crude fat and moisture and using dry food as more of a dessert. He said it more mimics what they would eat in the wild. I had never heard that before. But I trust him so I followed his instructions. I searched and read labels on every canned food at the store. I found this specific brand and flavor (I alternate flaked and the pate, and follow with a Tablespoon of the dry each for dessert) because it has one of the highest protein etc, without having unnecessary ingredients. My 3 year old boys lost 2 pounds, returned to their target weight and became 3 year olds again! They weren't sleeping all the time and returned to chasing each other around the house, playing and wrestling as young brothers are supposed to. Their almost all day napping changed to a couple hours twice a day!!!The only complaint I have is the price of all pet food. Each can costs more than a can of human tuna or salmon!

My cat loves it
I have been a Blue Buffalo consumer for my cats for many years, but I'd never tried the Rocky Mountain Red Meat recipe. I chose it because my newly adopted cat was not crazy about kibble, prefers wet food, and seemed to have a penchant for beef over chicken. He's been eating this now for about a month and loves it. We like Blue Buffalo because of their commitment to healthy ingredients, although I know there have been issues reported at times with their food.. I can only say that our experience with the brand and our cats has been uniformly positive up to this point.

He likes it mostly
My cat likes this most of the time, but there are times when he won’t eat it.

Great quality food, cats love it.
My two boys love this food. I've tried several different varieties, and the Rocky Mountain Recipe Red Meat seems to be the best. The smell doesn't even both me. I put out one can, and the two of them wolf it down in less than five minutes. They have Blue Wilderness Rocky Mountain Recipe dry food available at all times. One cat is two years old, and he's in great physical shape. The other is less than a year and also in excellent shape. Both seem to be eating less food since I started them on the Blue Wilderness, but have more energy. My advice to people with "off" smelling cans - toss it. The cans I've used always look good and smell good.

contains chicken and turkey.
Blue Wilderness has a bit of a sordid past. There has been controversy over the meat used but since they were "busted" a strong attempt at regaining public trust ensued. I do get perturbed when I read a can that says Red Meat Feast and find that the second ingredient is Turkey. I was trying to keep my boys off of poultry for a while because they developed a chicken allergy. So when the headings say "no chicken or turkey by products" I think it means No Turkey or Chicken but this is the first part of the list: Beef, Turkey, Beef Broth, Chicken Liver, Bison, Venison, Lamb, Natural Flavor, Potatoes. As you can see, Chicken Liver and Turkey are among the first ingredients. Why? I can't find the answer but I can tell you that the cats like it.What I do is mix it with raw organic beef, and add water to make it soupy and they really enjoy it. So far there has been no allergic reactions so perhaps the chicken liver is different because it's an organ. Though I wish they would have used beef liver. At any rate, it's an odd spam-like consistency so add water to help them get the additional moisture. These are larger cans in case you are wondering.

A good food but hard to find these days
This is one of the favourite food offerings among our cats so it is disappointing that it has more recently been impossible to find.

Great grain free food
One of my fur babies is a super senior at almost 22 years old and can’t have grains and can no longer eat dry food. Vet suggested I try a grain free food and this one she gobbles up and no upset tummy.

Cat Loves It and It's Healthy
Our cat is now 14 years old and has always liked beef over any other meat. I've had other cats in the past that would go crazy the minute I opened a can of tuna, our Vincent has nothing to do with it. Anyway, he really chows down on this stuff. My only "beef" is that it's pricey, I think it shouldn't be over a dollar a can.Due to the high price, I alternate between this product and Friskies with Beef.
