Mary Meyer Fancy Prancer Stick Horse, Unicorn

I ordered this Ride'Um Horse for my 3 year old, who is very into horses and cowboys right now. I chose this particular stick horse because of the size (it's not too big), the horse looked cuter than some of the other options available, and the price was right. Now that I have received it, and given it to my son to play with, I am very happy with this toy. The size is perfect, the stick isn't so long that it hits the ground or drags when my son runs around with it. At the same time, my much taller 6 year old boy still has fun playing with it as well. The sounds are very cute, and give the horse that little bit extra, and make it even more fun. I love that the sound is not loud, it's quiet, and I am very thankful for that. With 2 boys, loud toys give me headaches after about 15 minutes, and this toy is the best of both worlds. The sound provides extra fun for the boys, but it's not so loud that I want to try to remove the batteries to save my sanity.My kids are both having a blast playing with this horse. When I saw the picture, I was a bit nervous that the horse head part was not going to be very cute, but I was again pleasantly surprised when I opened the package and saw that the horse is very cute. The picture makes it seem like the nose and mouth are extra long, but on the actual toy, the horse is very cute, and the fabric is soft.The only negative I can possibly think of is the reigns. The reigns on the horse are super short, just long enough for one hand to grab on to. However, this really does not take away from my kids enjoyment of the toy.SInce both of my boys are having so much fun with this toy, I am very tempted to buy a second one so both of my kids can have their own horse. I would by this exact same horse again, and I recommend this particular toy to anyone else looking for a stick horse.

I rarely write reviews, but something prompted me to get on Amazon and say how happy I am with this horse. Maybe it's because all the other stick horses were huge, heavy and had inappropriately long sticks for young children (looking at you, Melissa & Doug!). OR, they looked extremely cheap - or ugly. I wanted to get one for my 2.5 year old daughter, and was sort of astounded at how none seemed to fit the bill. Mostly, I didn't want her to whack another kid in the face when she brings it to the playground, or have it dragging along the floor when she galloped. So, I decided on this Mary Meyer horse. He looked cuter than most and friendly, yet true-to-life. And, my #1 criteria - the stick size was smaller than the majority of others. Receiving this and seeing my daughter love and play with it was sort of a smart-shopping high! The quality is excellent on both the stuffed head and the wood. It doesn't look like a cheap carnival stuffed animal. It's light yet sturdy. The stick size is PERFECT. It gives her enough length to feel like she's riding it, but doesn't hang too low to be cumbersome. It's manageable to play with inside, and easy to carry outside. The "galloping" and "neigh" sounds are great. My daughter loves it so much, she called it her best friend, it was adorable! I'm always happy with a good find, especially when I've really done my research in a sea of seemingly inferior products. An excellent buy!

Our 3 year old g'daughter wanted a stick horse for Christmas and we were happy to oblige her since this toy allows her to use her imagination. We choose the Appaloosa just to be different but our g'daughter heard this as being an "Appleloosa" and named her horse "Apple"!This is a well-made item. Have to say that the reins are too short due to safety reasons. But the horse head is cute; the 3 sounds (whinny,snort,gallop) are not over-the-top; the overall size is good proportion for young child. She is very happy with Apple. Last October we were in Disney World and had dinner at the Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge. Every hour or so they bring out a barrel of hobby horses and all the kids get on the and run around the restaurant for a couple of laps. My daughter had so much fun that all she wanted to do the next day was do a horsey ride so I made a mental note to get her one for Christmas.Christmas rolled around and the we wrapped just the head in wrapping paper and my daughter first thought it was a giant lolly pop before she opened it.She still rides around with it and it is well built. Tons of fun!

I bought this and had it shipped directly to my grandson, it did work up until a few days ago. However, I came to visit today and he wanted to show Grandma and it isn't working. He received it March 23rd, today is April 23rd, it didn't even work a month 😢. I pulled up my order and it says return window closed yesterday. I couldn't even find a way to contact them. 'm really not a happy customer.

This horse is cute and the head part seems to be good quality. My son really enjoyed the sounds that it made.... until it stopped making them after about 6 weeks. This was with what I would consider to be pretty light use too. I contacted Mary Meyer about a replacement sound part (I figured I could just make a slit in the fabric and sew the new one in) and was disappointed in their customer service. They person who responded offered no apology and suggested I return it to Amazon because of their "great return policy." I responded that given all the reviews that mentioned this as a problem it seems like they might have a quality issue and did not get any further response. This item is kind of a pain in the neck to box up and ship back, and it seems like this is an ongoing problem with the sound chip for these horses so I opted just to keep it. But every once in awhile my son asks about the noises and so it is kind of a bummer.

The quality of the stick and the head is fine, the length of the stick is perfect for my 2 yo. The sound stopped working after 2 weeks and not from over-use, in my opinion. I researched this product a lot and new the potential for the sound to stop. Personally I have no desire to hear 'whinnies' and 'clop clops' but my son was VERY enthusiastic about them, as I expected him to be.

Belle qualité, un peu plus petit que ce à quoi je m'attendais. Robuste. Par contre, j'ai acheté un modèle semblable en magasin pour le tiers du prix avec une tête plus grosse et qui faisait du bruit et j'en suis plus satisfaite. J'aurais aimé payer moins cher pour le produit.

My daughter loves this especially since it has realistic sounds but it is noticeably cheap and I doubt it'll be long before she breaks it. It gets 3 stars because she doesnt seem to care about anything other than it being a ride on talking horse and will play/love it till it falls apart. For the cost its not bad.Edit: It's now 1 star as the "handle" to hold while using it is material and it literally tore off the horses head. Not surprising for the cost but annoying that I now have to figure out how to fix it.

I'm a Nana and the 3 yr old little boy down the street thinks I belong to him ha ha. When his birthday came along I gave it to his mom who in turn gave it to him and apparently he even takes it camping. So in reality I guess he's the one making this a 5 star item, after all, riding his horse on the hiking trails is a serious matter to him lol.

No instructions...battery next to dead so only slightest sounds can be heard...cannot find where to change out battery or if it is even possible to do so. Thought I was ordering from Amazon.ca as this is where I have my account....this item came from Texas and duty was charged on the item. Therefore, I was not satisfied with the experience and will think twice about ordering anything other than ebooks for kindle from here on.

It's a little big for a three year old. The straps are cheaply made. The sound is too soft and difficult to hear. Child will enjoy. The end should have been covered with something to not wrench the floor.
