I never understood why "Red Hot Cinnamon Candies" were called cinnamon candies. They never tasted like cinnamon to me. Well, after the first time I ordered a pound of this I knew why! These has a distinct "red hot" flavor to them. I don't mean that this cinnamon is hot to your tongue - it has an echo of that hotness, but when you have this spice you can really see why people have loved cinnamon down through history.The only downside to this wonderful flavor is that I have used so much more cinnamon than I have ever used before! It's been about 3/4 of a pound per year. When I figure it out per use though, this is an inexpensive spice. I search through my orders to find it again. It's encouraging that it's still here!

Hey this stuff is legit unlike the Vietnamese stuff which can harmful due to coumarin levels. Ceylon cinnamon has no coumarin and the flavor does not really overpower your food if you use a little extra. Obviously, if you dump it it will be too much. The flavor is very balanced an very similar to cinnamon gum without the sugar and with a more "complex" flavor while also being more delicate. Do a little research on the different cinnamons and do a test test for yourself. You'll see that Ceylon is far superior to the cheap crap. This cinnamon is also called mexican cinnamon here in the states. this is a spice I use in many meals because its flavor meshes well with many other spices such as turmeric and ginger. This cinnamon is very good quality and an inexpensive buy. Get it already!

The flavor is great. It has a nice cinnamon spice and a light cinnamon sweetness. I use this heavily as cinnamon tea and in making dessert sauces/toppings. As a tea, the water should not be boiling - it can be warmish-hot, but because this cinnamon is of good quality, if you over-heat it with water, it will ruin some of the nutrients in the cinnamon and it'll coagulate and precipitate. But, eventually, after leaving it in tea for some time, it'll do that anyway as the fiber soaks up the liquid. It's a nice source of fiber! I would reorder this item.

We have been ordering this cinnamon for a long while and this last bag when I opened it it was super dark unlike all the others I have gotten it has a different taste and texture, unfortunately it was past the 30day return window. Over all we have had a number over a couple years and all have been amazing just one not to my liking so will order again!😁

Interesting, the reason i bought this was that it has less coumarin or something like that. What that is, is something that thins your blood and too much of it can be bad so they recommend not more then 1 teaspoon a day? Which to me sounds very little if you're using it as a supplement for blood sugar. So what i found out was that Ceylon cinnamon is considered the "real" cinammon and other trees aren't exactly the same so they have slightly different flavors. Like i like Kirklands Saigon Cinnamon, which has a hot tamales like cinnamon spice. This Ceylon cinnamon has a milder, smoother flavor. I make cinnamon toast, add it my bread recipes that have raisins and other dried fruits or nuts, and sometimes in my oatmeal. But this bag gives you a lot of fine cinnamon powder and it's pretty good, give it a try. Oh and if you dont believe me look at the pictures of real cinnamon sticks, it's rolled up with many layers. the american/saigon variety is like a hollow one roll which we normally think of as "normal" sticks of cinammon lol.

While it has a more subtle flavor and scent, Ceylon cinnamon is supposed to be the real cinnamon that has the most health benefits. Saigon and Korintje cinnamons are supposed to have a higher amount of a coumarin, which isn't good for the liver. The scientific name for Ceylon cinnamon is Cinnamomum verum, which means "true cinnamon."I miss the strong cinnamon flavor of Saigon cinnamon, but I'm sticking to this Ceylon cinnamon for health. The Healthworks cinnamon is finely ground to a powder, and I trust their products.
