More Social Than Distant: A Pet Peeves (Quarantine) Collection (Pet Peeves by London & Chianca)

The Peeves find themselves in quarantine with 3 generations, what can go wrong? The book is a joy to read, bringing memories of the early days of the pandemic, spending way too much time together and of course Springsteen references (always Springsteen references). The book is funny and touching and the perfect pick me up as you are tired of wearing your mask. But keep wearing your mask, wash your hands and remember to socially distance.

This second installment in the PET PEEVES collection is a delightful classic-comic take on contemporary events during the long Covid year. Closing the cover after the last strip, I felt a mixture of emotions that's been all-to-unfamiliar of late: cheerful and refreshed.

Mild-mannered, but not milquetoast; sweet-natured, but not saccharine; The Pet Peeves strips shine a soft light on the humor to be found over these last 12 turbulent months. And like the best of the classic comics, it does so with a cast of characters who, despite their literal and figurative cartoonishness, are wholly recognizable in our daily lives. Five stars. Would recommend.
