Update: I did say I'd come back and revise my review if one of these broke. Sure enough, about two weeks after I wrote this review, one did break open while I was wearing it. Luckily, I had just gotten home and didn't wind up losing a treasured locket. I have ordered a different extender chain.Original review: "I wear crew necks of varying degree of coverage a Victorian-era grandmother would be proud of, and sometimes 16" and even 18" chains disappear under my shirts. It's really convenient to be able to add between 1-3 inches to my necklaces. The chain on these extenders is *large* which means you can actually add any length, because all the loops fit into the clasp. Want that locket 2 1/3" longer? These have you covered.I will say the metal wire used to make these is *very* thin. I've pulled on them, and they seem sturdy, but if I lose one of my necklaces using this product, well, let's just say I'll have a very different review to add."

Not a good product. It was not sterling silver, the chain turned dark after wearing it for 2 days only! See picture- the middle length is the one I wore.

I have a skin allergy to certain metals so my jewelry has to be sterling silver or better or else my skin breaks out in itchy hives. My husband had gifted me a beautiful necklace and it required a chain extension. This product has been great! I wear my necklace every day and I have not had a problem. Good strong extension. Will buy this product for future necklace needs.

This is just a first impression but it wasn’t the quality I was expecting, feels flimsy as others have said. The links are also quite bigger than expected with the actual silver being pretty thin in diameter. The color also doesn’t match with my sterling silver necklace (is a brighter, lighter silver). I do appreciate that there are different lengths and you can attach them altogether if necessary. But we’ll see how long it holds.

These are nice to have three to choose from for different sized necklaces but they are very thin and flimsy. I don't expect these to last long. I wouldn't recommend these for heavy jewelry items or young kids.

I gave this cat charm pendant with chain and extender to the birthday girl yesterday. She was thrilled, and wore her kitty necklace all day. It was, as noted previously, beautifully gift boxed, with its own cleaning cloth. The recipient didn’t even need an additional extender, as the chain was quite generous. I have a tendency to expect jewelry items ordered online to be larger than they are, and this was no exception. The pendant is quite small, and I have resolved to use a ruler for future purchases of this type, so I won’t be either surprised or disappointed.

I'm allergic to a lot of jewelry but sterling silver is my safe not expensive choice. At first I thought these were just what I need but when I went to put the smallest one on my necklace the links sprayed and it won't stay together so I am now using the middle size but I'm worried about its structure as I keep wearing it. I wear out chains quickly but this hadn't been worn and it broke. I'm very disappointed and wish I had bought the other ones I was looking at.

I used one of these for the first time today and it held up well throughout the day. The silver blends well with other silver and stainless steel jewelry. I'm happy that I'm able to extend necklaces I've been gifted and haven't used due the short length.
