I have been a diabetic for 21 years. I have used so many different blood monitors, I can't even begin to say how many. Who knows how much money I have spent on units and test strips. I have used the basic monitors, I have used the complex monitors that are compatible with my smart phone. They all really do the same job, read my blood sugars. My expensive rechargeable, smart meter refused to take a charge and I needed a new one. I started searching and decided that I didn't need to spend a fortune on another expensive unit, again that is just a waste, in my opinion. I found this unit on Amazon and figured I could give it a try. At the price point it wouldn't break the bank if it didn't work well. I have been so pleased with this purchase, couldn't be happier! The test strips are ultra affordable and that is a big plus for me considering that I check my sugars 5x or more per day. I have been using this unit for 6mths now and I am very happy with it. Yes, it is just basic but, again I just need to know what my numbers are so that I can inject insulin. It does what it is designed to do at a very affordable price. You will be pleased with this unit as long as you just want basic and affordable. I highly recommend giving it a try and I have already recommended it to other people that I know.

This is just a heads up and not really a complaint. I bought this in November 2022 and used it once. I decided I didn't have diabetes. now, June 2023 I am concerned and am trying to test my glucose. But readings are super inconsistent. It turns out that you have to use the strips within 3 months of opening the canister. so that may be why my tests are vastly different from each other. I mean, I did 5 tests in a couple of minutes and results were: 61 - 69 -119 - 86. Okay. I need fresh strips. I'm glad they sell replacements.And by the way, the instruction manual is almost impossible to read, even with reading glasses and a magnifying glass.

We used this a couple of times, seems to work well, we tested it out on both my husband and myself. It gave us both different readings( don't share pokey thing) . We're not diabetic. Pretty easy to use, had directions, came with all the stuff you need to use it right away except maybe no batteries, actually can't remember if it came with batteries but, I think not. We don't use it much but I would think it would work pretty well for anyone.

I used this new device for the first time, but I wanted to be sure before it worked well, so I did the "SAME DROP OF BLOOD" test. I took 4 tests/test strips with the same drop of blood and all the results were different, They went from 77 which was the first to 112 which was the highest. THIS DEVICE IS DEFINITELY NOT RELIABLE. Sometimes to save a little money we buy things that don't work 😔Unfortunately I didn't take a photo of the readings because I wasn't planning to do this Review.

I got diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes and my insurance wouldn’t cover the cost for all the supplies I needed… this was a cheap alternative that got me through it. It was easy to learn and got the job done.

This is the perfect kit to start monitoring your blood sugar level. Nice large readout for those like me who have less than perfect vision. Pick up two AAA batteries and you're in business. Nice that it doesn't use those button cells which are in constant need of replacement. Only downside so far is inability to locate additional test strips when the first 100 run out.
