How much of a "shelf" (or you might call it a "lip") do you need to attach the clamp to? Is 1 inch enough?

the lip i have it on holding a laptop and a 27inch monitor is only 3/4 of an inch

Can this be mounted to a wall using the holes in the back of desk clamp?

I don't see why not but you may need to customize the bracket a little so that the post is about 2" off the wall. It would also need to be securely mounted especially if the bracket is high on the post. If that were the case you may need to secure the top of the post to the wall also with a bracket.

do u sell just the arm i already have two of these just need the arm

I am not the seller. Though I was thinking the same thing, I have a few of the desk mounts and want to "multi-mount" on one of the columns... would be nice if they sold the arms separate.
