These work very well
This product was easy to install but I have a few tools that most might not. My cordless high speed Dremel tool made scuffing my dogs nails with the supplied scotch bright rotary tool very easy to do. The nail shoes have been on my dog for almost two weeks and none have fallen off and are a great aid to her getting up on our hard wood floors. She is a14 year old Lab springer mix and she can lay anywhere she wants now ceramic tile and wood floor with no slipping. I tried the other nail additions, the ones that look like sections of rubber tubing and they worked for about a day then they started falling off. Even tried gluing them and that worked to keep them on but when they ware down, their is no rubber contacting the ground to aid in standing. This product is more like a shoe on a horse, it has a huge contact patch that will eventually ablate away, but until it does, they work great!

Additional traction for 3 legged dog
These work great for our 3 legged dog, providing increased traction on hard surfaces. We just need 2 on each foot and they typically need replacing every 7-10 days. Keeping the dogs nails trimmed appropriately is key and you may need more than one size. Our dog is very accepting of having his feet handled which makes putting these on very easy for me. But if your dog is not used to having feet handled, you may require a second set of hands to put them on the nails

Damn things work!
Have been using the Buzbys for a while and they work for about a week if you get them on perfectly then need to be replaced. These are a better option for our old Cairn. Very easy to apply, one drop of glue seeps in and so far lasting 3 weeks before one fell off. The grippy socks work but then his feet are always wet, pain in the az to put on and have to remove to check blood sugar. These are the best option so far.

What you need to know
These toe grips come with a Dremel tool and crazy glue. The entire process is too traumatic for the dog and then they fall off. It would be easier to take your $40 and just flush it down the toilet. Your would be happier if you did.

These are an almost!
I wish I could give them 5 stars because they do work.... when they're on. My biggest complaint is that there is only 20 in the box plus 1 sample. Of course I knew this when I bought them but I didn't think they wouldn't stay on more than a week. You need two for each paw which means there should be at least 24 enough for 3 applications. I placed the order on August 23, 2022, they arrived on the 25th. We applied the first round, 8 toe nail covers, on August 28th. I'm writing this review on September 13th, 2022 and we have 5 left. Not enough for a 3rd application. The first application stayed on for about a week or so. We did have to re-glue a couple on several times. The good news is that they do work when they're on. They have helped our pup while he is walking on our hard wood floors. We apply these toe nail covers when he's sleeping... it's the only time he will allow us to do it. I wish there were more in the box and they weren't so dang expensive.

Life saver
I have a 15 yr old golden retriever who has a degenerative neurologic condition (GOLPP, common in older labs and goldens) that makes her weak in her back legs, and more frequent to stumble. If not for these toe grips I probably would have needed to euthanize her when she was 12. Without the treads she is sometimes unable to stand up, and with them she gets up with relative ease (it may take 1-2 attempts). She is also less likely to slip and fall when wearing these. Some tips and minor cons (not enough to mark down a star):- for the day after I place fresh treads she slips a bit more frequently. I think the rubber gets softer and "grippier" with time, so when it is first placed it is a little harder with less grip. Honestly it is likely a tradeoff with durability, and it gets grip fairly quickly.- her entire life she lays down with her back legs splayed out behind her. They recommend only using the treads on the two middle toes, but I add a third one to the inner toe as well, since that's the one she needs more grip to help her get up.- it is tough finding the right balance on the amount of glue to use. If you follow the directions and just place glue through the hole on top, I find they are more prone to falling off. If I place glue inside the tread before applying it, it sticks REALLY well, but then I sometimes have trouble getting them off when I need to trim her nails in a few weeks. I find that inverting the tread and "peeling" it off works best.- cutting or grinding the nail at a flat angle like the directions state really helps. So does buffing them with the included Dremel tip.- they are a bit pricey for what they ultimately are, but they work better than anything else I've tried, and I can't put a price on 3+ extra years with her

Game changer!!!
I bought these from Amazon in a size large. I was very hopeful they would work as the gripping socks were a total failure on my dog. The box came with a sample of a small size and xLarge size. My dog was at the higher end of size large. The large size didn’t fit her nail properly so I submitted a return request to Amazon only to find out this product wasn’t available for a return. I contacted McHenry directly and they were kind enough to send me the XL size to me at no charge.Holy cow, am I super happy with this product. Customer service was exceptional but getting the correct size for my dog has been a game changer for her. Super easy to put on and she is not slipping all over the floor. I can say enough about this product. Will recommend to everyone, including my vet , who couldn’t recommend anything for her as he didn't know any who had used them.

Caused sores on my dog's nailbed
The good:Pretty easy to apply, the glue hole on top is very convenientThey are durable and stay in placeThe bad:They dug into my dog's nailbeds as she walked and caused sores after a few days. She was pretty painful because of this, I wish I had seen it sooner. They also did not seem to help her with walking on slippery floors. If they did, it was very minimal and not noticeable.Try them quickly, watch for sores, and get a refund if they don't work for your dog.

It Works
An elderly dog with lots of slipping issues on the hardwood seems to have better traction now. We have tried everything and these treads along with some floor mats are very helpful. One note is that they are somewhat tricky to put on, however they have been on for a week now and still secure. Very thankful for this tool for our old guy!

I do not recommend - Buyer Beware
WARNING GRAPHIC PHOTO.I was really hoping these would work for my 7 year old German Shepard mix. She’s been slipping all over the kitchen and I didn’t want her to injure herself. I put these on about 3 days ago and was very careful in the application. Unfortunately if you’re dog is like mine and doesn’t like you mucking about and poking and prodding them they will move their feet.I got a bit a glue between her toes while trying to apply (unsuccessfully of course) and the glue gave her a chemical burn of some kind. Made it so much worse for her feet and I’m extremely disappointed in the company for not putting a warning within the product to state that this could happen and to keep the glue away from the dogs skin. Definitely not worth the money, or the hardship it can cause your dog.

Great traction.
My vet recommended these for my little guy to give him better traction on his rear legs that are suffering from subluxations of the patella. They glue on with crazy glue and stay on for quite a while. Best part is my little guy doesn’t notice they’re there but we do, as he has much better traction. Yes they are expensive for what they are…but they work!
