Left a Little Confused
3 ⭐️s for The Arrangement. I really wanted to like this book. It was ok. Weaving in the small details and foreshadowing that fill out a story’s twists and turns is an art form. KM misses the mark here in my opinion. There are plenty of twists and turns but without any previous thought or connection to back them up, the reader is left saying 🤔“What?” in a confused way rather than a “OMG WHAT??” 🤯 kind of way, if that makes sense. By the time I got to the end I was sick of the “twists” and had no desire to purchase the second book. I will, however, give this author another try sometime I’m sure!

OH!!!! MY!!!! GAWD!!!! 😕😮😟😯😲🤯 NO SPOILERS
That was my real-life mouth drop progression as I read the last 2 chapters. I am HOOKED! I am ADDICTED! Kierston, you have immediately become a top 5 writer in my list!People, if you haven't read or listened to this book, I honestly don't know if we could be acquainted (just kidding 😒, maybe...). This book has left me speechless. I read it in about 6 hours. I still had to work. Well, I listened too, but... *Look. Don't judge me! I have to have the book if I listen to an audible. It keeps me focused. 🙄*Anyway... On to the next one in the series. Though I might go to sleep to rest my brain, and dream of this as an adaptive Lifetime movie. (With sequels, of course!)P.S. I'm usually not a fan of Sarah Mollo-Christensen, aka Emma Wilder, as a narrator, but I could tolerate her in this one. Her narration is a little whiney sometimes. Nice job, Sarah. And new dude. Yeah. You, George Newbern. I've never had the privilege of listening to your narration before. *Hence the "new dude" comment.* You did great. I'll search for more of your work.

This book left me SHOOK!
This book took the term “psychological thriller” to a whole new level. I just finished reading it about 20 minutes ago and my heart is still racing. It’s been a long time that I read something that left me at a loss for words.

Nothing Says “Couples Therapy “ Like A Shared MAJOR Secret
“Sorry, honey.Rules are rules. No more secrets “WELL…Nobody could accuse this book of having a predictable end…WOW!!!Ainsley and Peter are one F****D up couple.Ainsley believes she has a “ mess of a marriage”And she wouldn’t be wrong. These two have issues, and problems coming at them from ALL angles.Beginning with them both agreeing to experiment with an “open marriage”Ainsley feels that by doing this, it will bring them closer together, spicing up their love life.Remind them of how things USED to be between them. What could POSSIBLY go wrong?… Right?PLENTY!!!Peter, is the more reluctant of the two to embrace “hooking up” with random one night stands on the dating app, however he is the FIRST to have a successful night of sex.Ainsley, on the other hand, has a perfectly cordial, if not slightly average date with the sweet Stefan. As things turn out, it’s Ainsley’s date that ends up having the more profound affect on the couples relationship. You see…turns out, Stefan is a Cop, and he in particular, shall we say, reluctantly becomes, the catalyst that ends up bringing this bizarre couple back together.I swear, by the end of this story I didn’t know WHAT the heck i’d just read…Just when you think you have these two main characters pegged, they do a complete three-sixty, with an ending I defy anyone to predict coming.Chapters alternate between Ainsley, and Peter POV, where we go through the angst and high anxiety that both go through as they fight to hold on to their marriage while dealing with the major issues that arise.Ainsley comes across a little bit selfish, and self absorbed. Her feelings and well being are paramount to her. Thus, this is why she feels she has to “ fix” her/their marriage, because without Peter, without her children, her beautiful home, …SHE.IS. NOTHING.Ainsleys three children are growing up before her eyes, time is marching on, she is a women used to holding a man’s attention. However,Now, as she begins to age, she feels she is under appreciated by her husband, Peter. At times, her thoughts towards Peter appear vengeful, angry, due to his lack of attention.Peter, seems to be digging himself further, and further, into an extra-marital hole.He is getting attention from women on the dating app, and at work, PLUS! there is mention of some kind of a relationship involving, He, and Ainsley’s bestie, Glennon and her husband Seth.Confused?Well.Wait until the ending hits you.MIND BLOWN!

Could easily be made into a Netflix show!
Fab quick domestic thriller read! Lots of twists. Did not see where the story was going to end up (from the initial read of the blurb). Off to get the second one in the series!

The arrangement
This is good however almost nothing happens for half the book. It's all buildup to what does happen but for me this is very slow and while I won't say I disliked the slow start it just is not what I look for in something we think of as a thriller.I also find that there are too many sex scenes that while it makes sense just I find it hard to read them especially as I always look more for the action.I wished for a quicker jump into the more thriller parts especially as the story had so much interest. If it was me I would have made the book a novella and cut out some of the extra parts as they don't always add to the story. Sometimes less is more.I do think this was a solid read but I also believe that there were quite a few issues with the book. Sometimes the language didn't flow very well and seemed to be strained. I also wasn't fond of the dialogue as much as well which felt forced. Now don't get me wrong the story was good and I think it has a great idea that was built on. The book also had good points as well the plot was well thought out and covered a lot of very interesting topics. With work on the pacing of this book it would have brought it from a 4 Star solid read to a 5 Star amazing read. I felt that this book while good with the extra little things this could have been amazing. For me the characters are very important and I really enjoyed the characters. Ainsley was a fun time character for me. She was well written and I did enjoy seeing how she was portrayed. She was described as beautiful and it felt like she was way above what her husband Peter could get in his mind.Peter was interesting and his lack of confidence with the opposite sex really jived with me because I could relate. I am not comfortable at times myself. Of the two characters I think Peter was the better one for me because he reminded me of me.The story got much better after the crime occurred which was midway through the book however I did enjoy the first part as well but I think that this would have been more suitable to contemporary fiction.Over all this book is interesting and is a mix of contemporary writing as well as a crime or thriller book. I didn't feel any of the suspense that I would normally feel with thrillers. This book has been recommended multiple times in a psychological thriller group and I was hoping more for the aspects of thrillers that I love but this one just didn't feel like a thriller to me.I am still happy I read this book as I enjoyed it and it was fairly quick to read this book. I really enjoyed the end which leaves open to more potential books later on
