Asics will not disappoint!
Just broke these in with my usual Saturday morning 2.5 mile run/jog. And they performed well.I recently purchased a pair of New Balance shoes that left me disappointed. It seems to have a decent comfortable shoe you'd have to pay the top dollar $$$.$$.Not with Asics! You can spend less than a hundred bucks and have good running shoes.I have bad feet. Like many with plantar issue. Including painful corns from previous ill fitting shoes.The gel excite 8 is wide enough and has good impact resistance.The past two years I've been running with the gel venture 6. And those were great. I had to hang those up. And took a chance with this. And I'm happy.As always, I recommend replacing/adding aftermarket insoles to your preferences. I always do even when spending more than a hundred bucks on running shoes. I use the Sofsole brand.

Great running shoe
Really like the free sense of air when running outside the fiber breaths as expected, very light shoe and great cushion performance! I’m very happy with my first Asics shoes

Incredible value
Incredible value for occasional jogger. Smart appearance and very good support and comfort. I wear athletic socks and they fit as expected with good mid and rear foot support but roomy enough in the forefoot and toes. (I order 1/2 size larger than my dress shoes with dress socks.) I like the very thin and economical use of rubber on the outsole for durability and weight reduction. I’d buy these again.

Higher arch
Gel-Excite 8 has a much higher arch than the previous Gel-Excite 7 making it uncomfortable for me. Returned it and bought another pair of "7's" while I still can. Aside from that seems decent.

Great choice
Great shoe. Great looking and comfortable. Tried them on in store and found I needed a half size larger than my normal size. The seller provide a great deal price wise.

Perfect.
Got mine from Outdoor Equipped. They were on time and in perfect condition. They are the best looking sneakers I ever owned and my first Asics, I'll be sticking with them if they're always like this. The soles felt weird at first, but everything went in the right place in about10 minutes. I'm happy.

Buyer Beware!!!!!!! Not for a Wide Foot!
Sadly, the wide size in this model is not wide at all. My last two pairs of shoes were Asics 10.5 Wide and fit great, no such luck with these.Since this purchase was fulfilled by Bealls I had to pay to return them and Bealls says it can take a month or more for a refund. If you have a Wide foot I definitely recommend avoiding this model of Asics and Bealls unless you tried them on in a store.

How do they call this a running shoe?
The foam you see around the edges is just decoration. It adds nothing for support.The sole it hard and inflexible. Buyer beware.
