Oh Mr. Sandman…..
Do you have trouble sleeping, are you tired all the time? Ms. Smith states that stress is at the bottom of most of our troubles, and if it isn't addressed, no end of physical and emotional problems will be the result. She knows what she is talking about because she suffered horribly from years of little sleep. The author states that three things are responsible for most of our problems: stress, work, and worry. When these things are addressed, our life will turn around. She advises giving the things that have you stressed over to God, quit working at a reasonable time, and make yourself go to bed. This book is devoted to telling you how to change your life for the good. The author states that if you follow her advice, your life will improve physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Changing will be a lot of work, but if God is included, your healing will come about much sooner.I think a plan to reduce stress in our lives is very important, so following the suggestions of Ms. Smith may be the way to make life changes. The one thing I know for certain is that inviting God to help in all areas of our life is absolutely something that can bring positive change. You must decide, or try for yourself, the author's other suggestions. She writes from a charismatic point of view. I recommend this 5-star book to those wanting to improve their lifestyle, feel better, and get rest.Chosen Books has provided Tickmenot with a complimentary copy of, “Give it to God and Go to Bed,” for the purpose of review. Sometimes it's good that a book puts you to sleep.
If you're looking for a book that tells you to take Sominex tonight and sleep, safe and restful, sleep, sleep, sleep, don't bother with this publication. The author is a naturopathic doctor, so you won't receive any instructions to visit your drug store for over the counter sleep aids. On the other hand, you will receive recommendation to use natural substances like essential oils and melatonin to help improve your sleep if you have problems falling into a state of restful, healing slumber. This book really is not focused so much on sleep itself, which is good for me because I struggle with the opposite problem-too much sleep. I'm confident that I can beat Laura's husband in a race. She said it takes him thirty seconds to reach the first phase of sleep. I don't think I hold out as long as a rodeo wild bronc rider. Fortunately, this book is full of wisdom on how to improve your life, which in turn will lead to better sleep. The author is dexterous with her use of analogies. She uses kudzu, toll booths, and monsters to illustrate her points in a way that people can relate. She even includes some original poetry along with some colorful phraseology to satiate those who enjoy seeing words employed in a stimulating fashion. Her real world stories add spice and an air of practicality to her recommendations to live your life to the fullest desire of our Heavenly Father. Some of you will be put off by her watershed experience of being baptized in the Holy Spirit and her doctrinal views which flow from that encounter. If so, I highly recommend you put aside your preconceived notions and willingly accept a witness that eagerly shares the most wonderful and impacting experience of her life. You may discover that this book perhaps is more about waking up than going to sleep.

Enjoyed this book! Easy read.
I really enjoyed this book and wanted to read it from beginning to end without putting it down. I have read most books from this author and find her to be very knowledgeable and sincere in her mission to help others. Laura Harris Smith is a very creative writer with great ideas and suggestions. Her energy is "catching". She gives suggestions to help with sleep which is a major struggle for me. This book will be a good resource and in time, with application and practice I believe I may master the task of sleeping. I struggled between 4-5 stars only because some of her other books are my favorite and there are some statements I am not sure about (which may be how I interpreted what was written), but nevertheless, I highly recommend this book to others. I love the videos and love the fact that she incorporates them with this book.
