Q: is the 600mm the strongest beam or the weakest? If i add two glasses a foot or so apart, will it be stronger?

A larger diameter lens will collect more surface area of light and will be stronger. A lens with a shorter focal length will be stronger given two lenses with the same diameter. Adding two lenses will decrease power.

Q: Would this be flexible enough to put in a backpacking pack? Without snapping? Im curious if its brittle

It appears to have good flexibility so I believe it would survive quite well in a backpack. Just be aware that they aren't completely indestructible, one side is smooth and the other has grooves that produce the Fresnel effect. Either side can be scratched potentially diminishing its effect. I keep mine in the padded envelopes they were shipped in! :)
