I wanted some turquoise to do a resin inlay, so I ordered these. The pieces were a bit too big for my project so I attempted to break them down into smaller pieces. This is when I discovered that they were white in the middle. I did some research and found that howlite is often passed off as turquoise. I did note when I came on here to add a review that the title does refer to it as "Howlite turquoise", so they were not being completely deceitful. But for folks that do not know I wanted to give a heads-up. These stones are howlite died to look like turquoise. So buyer beware. If you are looking for real turquoise- this is not it. Also if you do your research, the professionals will tell you there is no such thing as "howlite turquoise" it is a marketing gimmick. That said these howlite stones are beautiful. They just aren't turquoise.

needed a replacement stone and found the right size ,kept the ones i needed and gave daughter the lot, she makes coasters and trays ,that will make a nice tray

I like that these are natural stones (or so they seem). They are just too large for my purpose so I'm returning them. They're much larger than the maximum 5mm diameter of Mt roller bottles so they are unusable to me.
