This REVOLVING BALL WOOL HOLDER was bought for the same person who also received the Knitting Bag for Yarn Storage.On receipt of the Revolving Wool Ball Holder I was disappointed that the end grain of the wooden base and base of the revolving spike and the spike itself were quite rough. I presumed that when using a fine wool, it would catch and possibly become damaged on the rough surfaces. Being a woodworker I easily smoothed off the offending areas and gave the appropriate parts a light wax polish. My friend was delighted with it and has it in use daily.As my friend often has more than one project running at a time, I now need to buy another Revolving Wool Ball Holder, so that she no longer needs to hold the ball of wool under her arm.. I have received the second Wool Holder, but the end grain is similar to the first one. I shall sort it out as it is easier than sending i back.

The Revolving Wool Ball Holder is not heavy enough to stand up without it toppling over when trying to keep turning, no matter what size or ply the ball of wool is. I gave it one star out of kindness, but no stars for 'Easy to use' 'Value for money' and definitely not 'Sturdiness' Sturdiness was the biggest problem!

Works reasonably well. The picture is deceaving as a 50g ball of wool only just fits onto the spool. Not sure how well it would work for larger balls. The wool does on occasions get trapped on the base but in general it does prevent the ball of wool from rolling around the floor

Although this looked tempting from the picture I had to return it as it wasn't fit for purpose. It barely took a 100g ball of wool, it didn't rotate easily, was light and not at all substantial and as I gently pulled the wool in order to use it the whole holder just kept falling over. Perhaps if it was placed on a side table next to you when knitting and secured to the top somehow it might be okay but I was very disappointed with it.
