Granddaughter loves it. I added a dashcam with rear view camera to her vehicle. The dashcam had to be plugged into and removed from the 12V outlet each time she entered and exited the vehicle to prevent battery drain. Adding this device allows her to keep the dash cam plugged in and just turn the switch on/off while also leaving an open 12V outlet for charging other accessories. The on/off button has a red indicator light illuminated when in the on position, which makes it easy to see if it is on or off.

I can now connect my Garmin Nuvi 1350 GPS and my backseat headrest fan (to cool my dog in back with no rear a/c vents) at the same time in my 1995 Toyota Corolla DX automobile. This car only has one factory 12VDC cigar lighter socket in front. No dedicated power outlets. The adapter's metal socket interior walls have slick surfaces so I don't know how long the plugs will maintain good connections driving down the road. A few pieces of tape might be in order but we'll see. This unit replaces an old, clunky Radio Shack splitter (with a oversize dual socket body on a swivel plug) that had no leads from the plug to the socket pair. The Radio Shack unit's sockets also have slippery inner socket walls. This old oversize Radio Shack unit took up space in the console area and obstructed the pull-out cup holder in the dash or it hit me in the right knee depending upon how it was positioned. The long leads on this new unit allow the two bulky sockets to hang down off the console on the passenger side. I still keep the old Radio Shack unit handy to plug into one of the sockets of the new adapter in case I need a total of three power outlets. I might need to also charge my telephone someday on a long road trip.

Compared to the competition in this price range, the quality is great. The wires are connected to the housing well, and the male plug has nice springs for a secure and reliable connection. I wish it was shorter, but all the shorter competitors to this product (that I could find) are of significantly lower quality. Having at least 16 AWG is very important to not overheat the cables when in use. Keep in mind, that the Gage of cords used is based on the AMPs of the power supply, not the voltage or wattage. So a 12V 10Amp source (fairly common in cars) requires the same gage wire as a 110V 10Amp source.

Perfect! Just as described and exactly what I needed

It has an LED to indicate when it’s connected which is nice, it also supposedly has a built in fuse. The wires are nice and sturdy. Just pay attention to the rating of this device, don’t try and overload it and don’t overload when your car outlet can handle. It’s easy to overload it quickly if you plug in 2x 5amp seat heater pads and put them to max heat which brings you to most cars 120 watt (12voltx10amp) limit on the port. I only have one 12v in my car and recently got a small seat heat pad and wanted a free port still for charging, 12v system voltage display etc.

It arrived as advertised. I thought it was the adapter I was looking for…. But after few times using- the plug came apart. The part that screws. It unknowingly unscrewed and the whole lighter plug came apart with springs and pieces going into my dash. I can’t find the parts to put it back together, so it’s done. If I had known the screw in pieces on the plug would have done that, I would have put some epoxy on the outside screw piece to hold it. It worked great until that happened. Maybe I reach out to the company or they read my review and take care of it. Either way, the plug was great while it lasted. But junk now. I also don’t know if a glue would last forever or get hot and come apart and unscrew as mine did.

I do not have any complaints about this product. It is all good.
