Can’t believe I wasted money on this piece of crap. The cork float is not even close to being evenly weighted so it tips from side to side with an avocado pit in the center soaking the pit. I currently have a cup up Solo cup in the container to kinda “brace” the cork to prevent it from tipping over.

Updated 3/25/22: The leaching if the color into the water has never improved and the cork is turning a dark brown/black color like it is moldy. Not great growth from my avocado pits. I replace the water regularly. I don’t like it and may throw it away.Product works, but the cork leaks into the water and stains it brown. To keep clear attractive water, you have to change it almost daily. In addition, Hole for pit was too large, so I still used toothpicks to suspend it above the water. It does work, but I bet you can find a nicer set-up.

I ordered this and the first one came in broken, Amazon replaced it and I got it within 2 days so I can’t complain about that. Things happen so not a big deal. I just set this one up and there’s really not a lot to say, it’s a jar with a floating cork. It puts the bottom of the avocado in the water and it floats. So it does what’s advertised. I read some reviews that the cork flips or what not but mine works just fine! Hopefully I have good results with this and can get a little tree started!

the thin cut of this cork item means that it spends most of the time submerged. the weight of an avocado seed is such that the float is almost too far under water. I thought the cork version would be a more environmentally responsible way to go, but it just isn't well-designed
