Trinidad Moruga Scorpion Salsa (16 ounce)

Has a hint of sweetness that pairs perfectly with the savory flavorful trinidad pepper & reminds me of the old school pace picante sauce before they sold out to New York City. I can literally eat large spoonfulls straight with no chips. This is easily the best bottled salsa (its actually in my all time top 5 salsas anywhere) that i have ever had including even homemade salsa. I've been to well over a hundred different Mexican food joints and consider myself a bit of a salsa connesuier. Dont wait on this one you wont regret it even if you think it sounds extremely spicy because its not.

I've bought this several times from several locations over the years and really enjoyed the flavor of this. Haven't ordered more in the last 2+ years and just went to order more and it's now just under $22 for the same sized jar of salsa???? Can't see how anyone is buying any at this price. CaJohns, please get real and bring this back down to a reasonable price. ~$22 for a normal-sized jar of salsa is ridiculous and greedy.

It's hot.... no doubt there but has a very tomato taste to it that i didn't completely care for. I think it's personal preferance, my co-workers cleaned out the jar in a couple of days.

Excellent flavor. Enormously hot. There's a sweetness to it and the heat builds up on you with just a few chips. It'll take your breath away and make you take a pit-stop. I couldn't stop eating this stuff, not until I ran out of chips and with the appropriate amount of breaks to let me tongue cool.

I purchased this for a family friend who loves spicy food, he liked it... politely. I went ahead and scooped some up after seeing the reaction of disappointment in his face, it was far from hot, he was right to be disappointed. It was more sweet than spicy, kinda like a salsa infused with BBQ sauce. Not what I expected at all, stay away if you want something spicy

I enjoyed this product very much, it tastes great and is not so hot that one can’t enjoy the taste of what ever it is placed on. It’s also great for dipping.

CA John's never disappoints when it comes to hot foods. The Reaper salsa might be technically hotter (via actual Scoville units) but the Scorpion salsa has an almost equally intense heat that lasts, and even builds in your mouth after you have eaten it. I would highly recommend to keep both a jar of Scorpion AND Reaper salsa on hand at all times, along with a few bags of blue corn chips. There are others out there, but none can compare to CA John's!

I gave this a 2 star rating as it was a tasty salsa in flavor, but my jar had absolutely no spice to it whatsoever. I paid $10 for a jar of salsa because I wanted the heat I cannot find in local stores, and was honestly very disappointed here. I have had the reaper salsa before and it was pleasant and had some bite, but this was nothing but sweet like suger and tomato. Maybe I got a bad batch they forgot to add the peppers in?
