Dark Horse Deluxe Dune: Atreides Pin, Multicolor

I guess the size was disclosed so I wont take off points, but I was hoping it would be smaller. maybe I'll use it as a template to make my own.

This thing is pretty deluxe. Very thick, and hefty. Feels like if I threw it hard enough at a plank of wood, it would stick into it. Point is (or two, since this pin has a pair of pins on the back to keep it in the proper orientation), its a very good pin, and they do put some effort into these things, so despite the high price, it feels and looks legitimately high quality.

Strong, scratch resistant metal. A pair of straight pins on the back, and the rubber clasps seem to hold to them surprisingly well.The box that housed the pin is of nice quality as well, but the foam insert does not hold the pin as securely as I would have hoped.

I have enjoyed the original Dune books since the 1970s and I am enjoying the books by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson now. I have seen every movie and mini-series and enjoyed them all for their own merits and their ability to present the books. I am very happy to see them develop some merchandise that I would like to own. One of these items is this pin of the Atreides hawk.I originally thought that this pin would make a great lapel pin because the purchase options were either Small or Small Two. I also thought that it was a metal pin through a plastic backing. I was wrong again. All 2 inches by 2 inches of this pin is solid metal with two pins in the back to support it. The sturdiness and materials make this pin worth the price. But it also comes in a nice box to keep your pin safe and highlights it magnificently. I can find only one other Dune merch that I would like to own and that is the signant ring. But it has the opposite problem. It is smaller than wanted. There are two offered by Amazon at different prices. Take a look at my review of them before purchasing. Is the cheaper one worth buying or should you pay 3 times the price for the other ring?
