I am so dissatisfied. I bought these for our vacation to universal studios and they fell apart day 1 in the morning and I had to walk around with defective shoes all day.

fell apart at the seams
I will say these sandal-shoes are my favorite style of shoe.I could wear these exclusively for the rest of my life depending on the environment and needs of course...for causal wear these are my preferencei quit wearing regular shoes because of moisture and heat collection within which in turn leaves the interior wet and sweaty even if it isn't hot outside, which is a breeding ground for bacteria.. and often times people would complain about the smell, apparently my regular shoes would start smelling if i use the same enclosed shoes more than a few times a week the conditions of moisture and heat encourages athletes foot as welli really like this design for its comfortableness and breathe-ability. when i found this design of sandal-shoe i was floored because it feels like a shoe and with the benefits of a sandal the many gaps between the architecture let my feet dry out and moisture escape as well as heat releasewhich is why i was keen to buy them ,traditional sandals such as flip flops and clogs always leave blisters on my feet or are too loose to wear in active situationsi usually wear a size fourteen in other styles/brands but in this style size sixteen fits me much better.i was wearing fifteens but either my feet got bigger or i dunno..the only critizism is that the stitching at the heels tends to unravel .this is a known issue apparently and even with light wear it happens.the last couple of pairs i bought from keen themselves, after like a few weeks or so (maybe longer) the stitching came apart with normal use at the heel on the flap where the keen logo is ... i got some leather and tried to mend and reinforce it. the grey composite material behind the black synthetic veneer material is difficult to penetrate with a needle (and kite string)I had a cheap knockoff version of these before which i really liked by the brand of 'outland' which i can't find anywhere on the internet , and it had problems like this all the time , I was, however, able to repair it often with needle and kite string and shoe goo. it's appearance standard wouldn't hold up at a fancy dress party but i'm not the sort who has a social life so I didn't have anyone to impress. i wore them till there were holes in the bottoms of the sole which i patched from the inside with duct tape ... and then they deteriorated beyond repair faster than i could be bothered to mend it.which is why i bought these.keens...i usually just get my shoes from second hand stores like 'goodwill' . because i am poor but made an exception for these and bought them new from this site because the chances of running into them second hand is slimpicture one is of the outer heel of the left shoe , the second photo is a picture of the inner heel of the right shoe. the third photo is a picture of the outer heel of the right shoe. .. i used white thread to mend.. in the first photo the shoe is unmended because i found it difficult to do so...like i said the needle was difficult to push through.anyway highly recommended style ... for those who suffer from athlete's foot or strong odors ... as the ventilation is magnificent

Great quality but order a half-size larger!
Nothing beats KEEN when it comes to this type of shoe. They are a bit expensive, but worth it. I have tried a few other manufacturers for this kind of shoe and I always end up returning them because nothing compares to KEEN. For some reason the shoes are about a half-size too small. The pair of H2s that I am replacing with these was true to size (probably 4 years old), but I had to return a size 10 for a size 10.5 in the current H2. My feet are a size 10 in pretty much all shoes that I wear. If you are a size 10 you need to order a size 10.5 and if you are a tight size 10 (a bit larger) you should probably order a size 11.

garbage
i don't know what has happened to keen. i've been wearing their sandals since 2006 and this latest pair i ordered was complete junk. they fit way too tight and were very stiff. this is my fourth pair of keen newports in the same size, so i know exactly how they should fit. these were just wrong.i should also note, my first pair of keens lasted about eight years and were amazing. they saw many destinations around the world. i retired them when the sole started separating in the back. my second pair only lasted a couple years and the sole of both completely delaminated and fell apart. even though the construction was seemingly on a downward trend, i ordered this replacement pair. i returned them immediately.if you still want keen sandals, consider trying their american made versions. i ended up with the rialto sandals. they don't fit quite as wide as my old newports, but they don't squeeze my feet or prevent splay either. the different feel took some getting used to, but they are much higher quality overall. they do have an insole that soaks up water and squishes as you walk, but it's not terrible and they still dry faster than a pair of shoes would.

Great shoe
Great traction, arch support, and stability; plus, the tie-dye pattern is fun. I’ve owned 7 pairs of Keens. The quality of the construction was more consistent when they were made in the US. These are good. (The pairs of Raya Black I have tried from Mexico, haven’t been glued properly.) These newer styles of Newports do have a nice, cushier footbed than the old ones. The men’s is a bit wider than the women’s, with a rounder toe. I recommend buying Keen sandals in the upper range of your normal size. Do not size up. The tops stretch a bit after a couple wearings, and sizing-up puts the toegrip too far forward. (I normally wear an 8-8.5 in women's shoes. I buy Keen sandals in either a W’s 8.5 or a M’s 7. The W’s 9 and the M’s 7.5 are too long.)

If you have wide Fred Flintstone like me, Keen is the way to go for width in the toe box
Keen is one of my go-to brands as I have a very hard time finding shoes that are wide enough for my feet, which I call either "Fred Flintstone feet"or "Duck feet". I have owned several different Keen styles over the last decade or so and they fit my feet well. They are casual, stylish, and functional. I purchased this particular style to use on a boat, as I am a charter boat captain. I needed something with a boat shoe sole, a safety toe, some arch support, anti-microbial construction to control odor, and something that is easy to keep clean and maintain.

A Quality Product.
Purchased at £53.00 as part of planning for The Camino de Santiago.Package arrived one day early in excellent conditionI'm pleased I payed attention to some of the other reviews that suggested going for one size up; on doing so the fit is snug and wide.First impressions are that they look like a quality product and nothing shouts out at me as a defect.I'll be using these for light hikes along the Camino and evening wear after a long day in bootsThe fact that they can take a soaking and be thrown in a washing machine is a plus that I'll be taking advantage of on the trail.I'm pleased with my purchase and even more so that I didn't pay the RRP which is a bit prohibitive.Hope this helps.

Keen Newport H2 review
My third pair of Newports. I’ve worn one pair out in two years and I walk a lot of miles as I love hiking and backpacking. My app tells me I average about 11-12 miles a day over a year. Use them all year round for walking around town, going to the pub, playing golf, hiking on trails in the mountains, etc. In winter I team them with waterproof socks.Pluses: extremely comfortable hiking sandals, very good toe protection, very durable and long-lasting. Fit true to size. The elastic tightener is reliable, doesn’t accidentally loosen and holds the foot in the footbed. Dry out quickly. Thick soles give loads of cushioning on rough ground. Can be washed clean easily when they get muddy.Negatives: Footbed is dimpled to aid grip and ventilation. When new it’s a little abrasive so I wear those invisible/ankle socks to reduce friction. Like all sandals little bits of stone can sneak in so I need to stop walking and give them a shake. Neither are serious issues.Personally I find driving a car when wearing them is ok but thick soles mean some adjustment to the driver’s seat is needed. They suit me perfectly and I trust them.

Excellent Sandals
Excellent sandals, true fit, comfortable, feel very durable and i also am liking the nylon over my previous Leather ones, (Had three pairs of leather Newport previously).I really like Keen Newport sandals as the front bumper rand helps stop stones dirt etc entering the shoe.I have also just received a pair of Merrell all out blaze sieve mens, but looking at them both i would say the Keen build quality better than the Merrell ones.My only gripe is they do tend to wear down around the heel area quite fast if used for land trekking / walking but i suppose the clue is in the title Hydro, so i suppose water sport is there main forte.

Small UK Sizes
I was very disppointed with these sandals but have given them 3 stars for their solid construction. My feet are a UK size 15 but I use UK size 16 for comfort. The sole length of the sandals compare with other UK 16s but, the upper structure crushes my toes into the toecap of the sandal making them very uncomfortable to wear. The problem appears to be the heel strap which pushes my heel a good 25mm forward from the rear of the sole; making the upper structure a mere size 15. The strapping is not adjustable and does not stretch. Not impressed. These would be excellent UK size 16 sandals if they had an adjustable heel strap (so easy with velcro).

Most Comfortable Sandals I Have Ever Worn
I bought these sandals to wear when riding my ElliptiGO cycle in the hope that they might help prevent a problem I have with the soles of my feet burning up during an extended period of riding. Before trying them on the bike I put them on to wear in the house to 'break them in' and evaluate how my feet took to them. Satisfied, after five hours wearing them, I tried them on the bike, which is stationary - attached to a turbo-trainer in the garage for the winter. They remained comfortable during one hour of constant pedalling during that ride and have since managed to undertake up to three hours continuous pedalling before my feet started to burn! The wide fitting and ample toe-box is also worthy of mention, as it affords the room for the feet to expand and wriggle room for the toes during prolonged exercise, as well as working well with the toe-cages on my ElliptiGO.I wear the Keens without socks, use them daily in the house, as well as alternating them with trainers for my rides and they are still fresh and clean! The foot bed is extremely comfortable and my feet do not slide around. The elasticated upper too is very comfortable, despite me having a high instep. My high instep means that I have to use both hands to grip the front and rear tabs to open the sandal and pull it over my instep, but it is worth the effort to bathe my feet in comfort! I wear the Keens with the drawstrings loosened completely off to keep the pressure off my insteps (which also suffer from laces, when my feet swell), although I do tighten them before riding to prevent my toes from working their way up against the toe-box. With the drawstring slackened off, and my high instep, the elastic compression of the upper is sufficient for everyday walking.
