This seemed like a good edition to the emergency pack I keep in my vehicle. Of course it warranted trying to validate how it works. I cut a small section of it off to use as kindling for a bon fire. It lit very easily and was hot enough to light larger pieces of tinder. In a dire situation, the entire length could be used to make a fire in about any condition.

Product lights easily, and keeps the flame lit for a good length. It can be blown out by strong winds so careful of that. And if you don't cover the top after being lit it can leave a bit of ash wherever you store it.I love the tiny box it comes with.

It was unnecessary weight and luxury for a backcountry canoe/portaging trip for a group. It might be ideal for 1 person who wanted to add more items to the case. But it didn't work for us. It is top quality. But the bellow also holds the fire tinder wick. So you either use the wick to control the size of the flame or you use the bellows to start the fire. I bought individual tinder wicks and individual bellows for our group.

The sizes are a little Inaccurate but two for 16 bucks who cares. They easily catch a spark from a rod or even an empty lighter and in a pinch will work great. One in my pocket for edc as I'm often going from urban environments to the woods so it will work great with my wazoo fire necklace and one in my fire kit.
