I did some web sleuthing and finally found a website that discussed paper weight and thickness equivalencies. 18 pt paper is supposed to equate to 460 gsm, which is a rather heavy card stock. That being said, my Neenah Classic Crest 110 lb is listed as being 267 gsm, and is decidedly more rigid than this LUX 18 point. The LUX is, however, thicker and more rigid than the Neenah CC 80 lb. So, I'd estimate this paper to be the equivalent of a 100 lb. weight card stock.

Q: Could I use this paper to make wedding program fans?

That is what we used this for. It was good since we were folding the paper in half.

Q: How clearly does the print show up when you use black ink? I want to use it for wedding directions

I realize that it wasn't clear what color of paper you were referring to. All lighter colors will work great in inkjets or laser black printers. Or even copy machines set to black or with say a white template as a master sheet pre-printed in strong black then used to make copies withthe lighter cardstock here. Now most dark colors as you probably know won't show up too well in black. Some are light enough if you were to foil or black foil it might work but the darker the shade the less likely a true black print on it will work well. I love the teal with silver or gold foiling. Both textured such as tiny star foils or bright metalic foils to matte silver or gold. So of course black is stunning in either. Sometimes using bold setting on your font choice also helps or some of fancy graphic fonts free or sold on line are bolder fonts that work great on darker paper to foil or not on lighter papers.
