Scott Archery Longhorn Hex Release

I live in Florida and the summers are brutal with the heat and humidity – I was shooting a three finger release and last summer mid morning the release slipped from my hand and ever since I developed a major case of target panic – as soon as I would draw I would punch my release… After that incident I began shooting a true fire four finger hand held and also the true fire hardcore buckle release and neither could I shoot with proper form.!. Both releases are top of the line but could never get over the tp – searching youtube and forums I came across a video of someone shooting the Scott Longhorn hex and figured it was worth a “shot” – within ten arrows shooting this release I was AMAZED of how it instantly helped my tp and within a few weeks look forward to shooting again.!. Highly Highly recommend this release.!.

This release was HUGE for me. After a severe case of target panic, groups opening up, and arrow flinging all over the place, I decided to give this a try and I’m happy I did. This is the best release to defeat TP. It took me 2 shots to figure it out since I watched so many reviews on it. INSTANTLY tightened my groups and there’s no way I could anticipate my shots. Oh and the best thing, you CANNOT PUNCH THIS TRIGGER! It has to be squeezed off correctly. This release is great. Buy one!!

I absolutely love this release. I also punched the trigger with my old Trufire release now, my shot groups are a lot tighter. Not the biggest fan of the buckle but its more than fine once its on your hand.Note: photo attached is before i zeroed in my sight with the new release. This is at 20 yards.

This was great for someone who doesn’t want to do full back tension, but if you do, it doesn’t really work. Maybe a good hybrid option for hunting, but get a true back tension release for target shooting if that’s the road you are heading down.

I have owned and used releases made by other companies in my many years of shooting a bow, but the ones from Scott Archery have always been easier to adjust, lasted longer and, without a doubt, out-performed ANY of the others. The Longhorn Hex Release is no different. Adjustments for length and sensitivity are super simple... and it does its intended job with perfection. After shooting with the Longhorn Hex for a few days, any urges to "punch" the trigger are gone. This release can do nothing but IMPROVE your shooting and tighten your groups.I highly recommend this release to anyone at any stage - beginner, intermediate or expert - of shooting.

Had this release about a month and a half and love it. I have a bad case of target panic where I would punch the trigger as soon as my pin got on target. I also would sometimes jer the trigger so hard I. Would miss my target totally. I am amazed at this release. I can now actually hold the pin on the target. I love shooting again because of this release.

So far I am still getting used to it, so still getting the feel down. Quality of construction is nice. I will update as I get more used to it.

It's a great product if you are ready to learn the back tension release. The difficulty I have with giving it 5 stars is the lack of a product manual and the fact that you still have tension in your hands when you shoot this. I am going back to a more traditional BTR.
