Works as expected if not than re-evaluate your hardware
Works great with my laptop and LG G8X.Price could have been lower but it works so no complaints from me.If for some reason it's not working for you check if the laptop has thunderbolt 3 port (looks like type-c but not every type-c port is thunderbolt 3)Yes only v3 it won't work with thunderbolt v2 or v1.Same goes for your phone, check if it has desktop mode via HDMI.

Great for watching TV from your phone.
It is really very simple to use the cord. There are slots on the back of the TV that says DHMI just plug it into one of those slots, doesn't matter which. My phone has a C end charger so the other end plugs into my phone. Turn on your TV. Click the dhmi that comes on the screen. Bam you've got your phone on your TV. Everything you do and watch on your phone you now can do on your TV. I hope this helps and it's great if you do not have home internet.
