Explain why not how
I bought this book based on reviews. And I strongly have the feeling they are mostly fake after reading it. If you are looking for a digestive manual how to help your anxiety with your diet, this is not the book to go for.It’s tons and tons and tons of explanation of why why why.Then ton of tests.I am just extremely confused and have not idea how to apply a plan for me.It’s indeed extremely complex due to the fact that every diet should be personal based on your needs.So this book indeed make sense but it’s not well written and miss tons of diet programme to help us out it in practice.I have just lost my money.It also gives me a bit of anxiety because I feel overwhelmed by the quantity of information.

Game changer
This book is incredible! Explains everything. Reasons for your anxiety and then food to support that area. Also there is a list of all the different types of supplements too that may help you! Sooo sooo amazing. Highly recommend

Amazingly Informative + Practical Guides + Recipes
I couldn't put this book down for a few reasons. 1) It is easy to read and clearly explains the science behind the gut/brain axis and discusses many common health issues that millions of people suffer with (leaky gut, adrenal fatigue, sensitivities, etc.) 2) It contains assessments to see where your anxiety and other health issues stem from. 3) The recipes, supplement guides and shopping lists are fantastic.This book focuses on keto and low carb, nourishing foods and explains what foods are helpful for certain health issues and why. I love that instead of some of the keto advocates that promote 'eat meat and cheese all day', she focuses on whole, nourishing foods that promote healing, not a yes or no food list.This is NOT a book that cures your anxiety or health issues just by reading it. It is NOT a supplement guide that suggests pills to take to be cured overnight (although supplements are recommended). It is NOT a book that tells you to drink a green smoothie each day to be healthy. This book is a lifestyle guide that you have to mentally wrap your head around and physically work on by overloading your kitchen, changing your food choices and putting time into preparing nourishing meals.This all being said, I do consider myself educated in the information that was in the book so for me, it was an easier read (not to be confused with extremely informative!). If someone is coming from the Standard American Diet with no knowledge on nutrition/science, it may be a bit overwhelming. But if you are willing to put in the effort and use this as a lifestyle guide, this book is fabulous.

OUTSTANDING Functional Health book!!!
This book is REALLY good. PROFOUNDLY good. This book is THE guide to help steer yourself, or a loved one/friend, away from the misery of anxiety (and depression), and toward a whole new joyful life. Ali Miller gives in-depth explanations of the biological mechanisms that cause brain dysfunction, (spoiler alert: it's more about what's going on in your gut than your actual brain) and how to individualize the steps to heal. The foods to eat and avoid, supplements that can help, and other lifestyle habits that have a big impact. The book isn't just for those suffering with mental/emotional distress, but for anyone who wants to optimize their overall health and get the most out of life. I bought this book to help research for a friend whose daughter is suffering, and found many things to help myself. Before starting keto 3.5 years ago, depression was a constant lifelong battle. This book helped me clear some of those last little shreds hanging on from that, and now at 47, I feel better than ever. Ali Miller has an amazing podcast, Naturally Nourished, along with her co-host Becky, that you can check out to see what she has to offer. These hippy dippy nutrition superstars know more than 99.9 % of doctors out there about how to help people heal and experience abundant health. Go Ali! Can't wait for the cookbook to come out!

It’s not just for anxiety!
This book is so good. The author explains things in such a way so you aren’t confused or left with questions. Definitely a must buy if you’re at all concerned about your health.
