Q: Does this contain a metal part ring that the plug screws into? or is it all Plastic? I am searching for one with the metal plug.

One I received this week had a plastic ring without the black stopper at the end of the plastic plug. Looks like hometop downgraded their materials and falsely advertise what you're purchasing

Q: What is the smell? Is it too strong?

when you first open the package, it smells like fresh rubber but the smell dissipates after you leave it out for awhile. there is no smell on the inside,

Q: how long does it stay warm?

For me, it stays warm for a long time as long as you're using it next to your body. It cools off faster if you just leave it lying around. I really like this hot water bottle a lot.

Q: what are the dimensions?

The width is 7 1/2" and the height up to where fill section starts is about 10". The top bit is another 3" tall and about 3" wide.
