I missed the baby G fad growing up. I was the grunge generation, and my little sister was the baby G enthusiast. I hated them. They were so mainstream consensus. Now the years have passed and the generational gap starts to overlap and crowd together to make room for the new consensus. I miss watches that don’t require an outlet to work, and don’t become irrelevant next season. In a nostalgic splurge I bought two different versions within one month. I love them so much that I’m going to be that a-hole that has a watch on two wrists.

I have had different incarnations of this watch since i was a kid. i hadn’t replaced the one i’d lost 8 years ago and had stopped wearing a watch since then. Found I needed one for work and went back to what I knew and loved. Other than not having the cute little man running with his surfboard, jet skiing, and surfing- this made me nostalgic and content. All the same functions are there, working in relatively similar ways. The backlight does not seem as bright as it used to be, but I can read the watch in the dark, which is all that matters to me with the light. I wish I could change how the date reads (21. -7-13), esecially as it’s a bit small. But that’s a small gripe. These have always survived my clumsy, super active, sweaty life and i expect nothing less from this version. I love the grey with the turquoise and it has all the functions I need without being super bulky. I also run in downpours and this has had no problem with that. Decent price for a good watch that I enjoy wearing and know will last for however long I need it to.

I guess I should start by saying I wear my watch 24/7. I wear it in the shower, in the pool, at the beach. All the dang time. So, I'm hard on my watches. That said, this watch lasted 2.5 years before the band loop broke. Otherwise the watch still ticks. I did receive compliments on the watch, but I feel these days folks compliment a watch, because it's becoming an increasingly rare accessory to see in the wild. I will also share that the plastic around the face became discolored where the gray took on a rusty hue. I replaced with another Amazon-purchased Baby G, as that is my brand of choice.

This is the second time I've bought this watch - one for my daughter and then this one for my son. Really cute watch, very nice colors, and they love the little images that come up.We had a disappointing situation with the battery dying after just one month and the seller was exceptionally helpful in resolving it. Would definitely buy from this seller again.
