Purchased for my elderly yellow Lab, she is almost invisible during WI winter as she blends in with the snow. She has had her knee replaced, is nearly deaf, and seems to be getting forgetful. We live in the country surrounded by woods. She enjoys a leisurely stroll around the yard and edges of the woods, but I worry when I let her outside, especially after dark, that she might fall down where I can't see her. This collar assures me that I will quickly locate her. I have also enjoyed watching the red light moving around the yard in the dark; now I know where she goes when she thinks Nobody is watching. (Yes, I am easily amused!)I put it on her during the day, too. With the constant visits from UPS with Amazon Prime deliveries, the collar makes it much easier for the drivers to see her, too.It arrived fast, well packaged, it charged up easily with included charger and was plenty big enough for my Lab, I trimmed off about 5" and it slips easily over her head. I push it behind her regular collar & tags, so it's not likely to slip off if she decides to make snow angels, or meander thru the bushes.The charging hole has a rubber stopper to keep out dirt and moisture, it seems to have a tight seal. Big red button to turn on and off, keep pushing it to cycle thru the options-slow flash, fast flash, unblinking, and off.For trimming to fit, don't worry about cutting thru the light wire, it doesn't hurt it. Use a heavy scissors and it cuts easily. You can make it snug and attach/detach each time but I left it a little loose and just slip it over her head when she goes in or out. In the summer when we use doggie door so she comes and goes as she pleases, I might make it tighter.I usually don't use the blinking light as I think the flashing might confuse her, but the solid red is very bright. In fact I think it helps her see at night, by illuminating the ground in front of her. I may use the flashing light if we have a blizzard, or if I need to take her out on the road for some reason.I'm so happy that I bought this! I will definitely be recommending to friends, and I already bought 2 more as gifts.

It lasted 2.5 years of daily energetic use. The spring-loaded on/off button, black silicone seal for the USB port and rechargeable battery have lasted the whole time. Didn’t know how good I had it.My vain, black standard poodle with the festively lit pink collar is greeted by all during nightly walks and when running off leash at a nearby green space. When it’s really dark all you see is a disembodied halo bouncing around. She loves putting it on then runs away if I try to take it off. Bonus: black dog sleeping at night on floor with this collar doesn’t get stepped on. The whole neighborhood started getting these and we can now tell who is coming by the color.With just a quick measure and a snip it is easily inserted into the white connector to begin working in seconds. Looser is better than snug. It has a dedicated connection on my multi outlet usb charging station when/if she finally gives it up at night.Eventually it failed to stay on for more than a minute and I was constantly turning it back on. I regret that recently an expensive replacement brand hasn’t held up so well. Contrite, I will stick with this from now on.

8 weeks in: The collar works most of the time. If your dog runs up a hill or two, or is active (not talking about rough play) this may not hold up for more than the "return it now" time. I wish I had bought this someplace other than Amazon where you have 90 days to return things. If you don't mind turning it back on every few minutes or once or twice a walk it still will do its job. I bought another one here "Fashion&cool" and would go with that one over this one:  Fashion&cool LED Dog Collar For Night Safety,USB Rechargeable and Adjustable Light Up Collars for All Dog Sizes,Red 6 weeks in update: The collar worked great and still "works" but when the dog runs or shakes her head it shuts off. It is easy enough to turn back on, and it will often stay on for most of the walk, but it seems like it has a short. I might buy another one but might consider a different product manufacturer.This is perfect for what it should be used for - a light to make others aware of where your dog is in the dark. First, it is not a "collar" that you attach a leash to. Second, it is a colored tube (Green for me) with white LEDs on the inside. If you clearly understand these two points you should purchase this for its intended purpose.A friend has a dog he lets run in a large park at night and he swore this was the best investment he has made. I saw it in action and decided to get one for my dog. The instructions on trimming the collar are very clear. You have to cut between the LED lights with the lights OFF. If you can follow those easy instructions you can size it in about 3 seconds. It does not easily come apart once sized (or I would find it annoying) so I have it sized to fit loosely over my dog's neck, and of course I still use a real dog collar when taking the dog out.It is perfect for making your dog seen at night. If you want an LED collar you can attach a leash to, look elsewhere. If you are fixated on the lights being different colors, look elsewhere. If you understand what this thing is you will be happy with it.
