I find us a very good quality color because I don’t have to use much to get it very black, so this was worth the money because it will last me a lot longer

This black food coloring is great! I made our son’s October wedding cake which was a red velvet cake with black frosting. I knew I would need a lot of food coloring and this did the trick. It made great black buttercream frosting. Did NOT interfere with the normal taste of the frosting at all. Of course I had black everywhere - it’s tough not to get messy when making so much cake - but I have to say this black coloring did not permanently stain anything. We all had great fun after eating the cakes with our black lips and tongues and laughing at one another. The one trick to remember is when you are making a lot of black frosting, you will need to use a lot of the food coloring so go easy on the other liquid that is added to the frosting because this food coloring acts as a liquid and will thin the frosting like a liquid would, so I cut back on the milk I added to the frosting. Thanks for a great product that was available in such a big bottle at a decent price.

I love this brand of food coloring. I make a lot of cutout cookies and have used a few different brands. This is the best. Black is such a difficult color to get dark enough, and this works perfectly!!

I wanted to make black frosted cupcakes for Halloween. I'm not a professional, but have colored icing and have not always had perfect results. I was impressed with this color, dark black is hard! I made a chocolate buttercream and only needed a few drops. The color was a nice, strong black, blended well, did not add any weird flavor, held up great in my frosting, didn't separate or change the consistency and didn't stain on clean up either! Made my cupcakes look pretty darn professional! It may be a bit pricey compared to others, but the color and results without the mess and funky flavor, is worth it. Shipping was fast and was well packaged. Will definitely buy again!

True black can be difficult to achieve from a white icing or buttercream base, without using a ton. This product offered amazing saturation with a few drops and it is 100% gluten-free, which is essential in my world. I ordered the white as well and am equally satisfied. This product and customer service, made it worth every penny spent for this food gel. So happy!!

Larger than I expected.Easy to use and holds color well in buttercream

I am so pleased to have found this product. I have a 4 year old who is autistic and his special interest is play doh. We go through an ungodly amount every day and I’m happy to encourage his creativity even if it’s ruining my budget :) Anyway, the issue we ran into is that no matter what play doh bundle you buy, you only get one black!! This just doesn’t work out when your kid is obsessed with making the country’s flags (Middle East im looking at you). So I’ve been buying the Sargeant brand modeling dough in bulk for a while to keep up with his needs. I’ve tried many brands of black food coloring to dye this stuff but it’s never worked out. I only ever get to very dark grey which I can assure you, is not the same and NOT accepted by Mr. 4. This stuff gets it BLACK and doesn’t degrade the ply doh in any way. It’s great! I have to wear gloves but once it’s kneaded into the dough it doesn’t leech or stain hands. This stuff is a God send and I couldn’t be happier!

I want to write this review on every color I purchased and I want amazon to bring up some 10 star options cause this product would get it from me. I have always used the walmart wilton jars of color for my frostings and using a knife it gets messy and just a pain so I looked for a decent alternative.This is the go to buy every time! I use this to color buttercream frosting for high top cupcakes and to decorate cakes. The pic I posted I would say for about 1 1/2 to 2 cups of white frosting I used 1 to 2 dots like very tiny dots of color and it made that pastel color rosettes. The darker ones at the top and bottom are about 5 tiny dots of color. I cant recommend enough.
