The Teacher (The Lewis Brothers Series)

Not Good But Not Bad
I can't say that I enjoyed this book. As a retired teacher having taught Kindergarten fourteen years, I thought it would be great. I found so many curse words in the book that really turned me away. Then I found God's name used in vain a few times, and that really disheartened me. I was glad that Emma loved her students and found it easy to love and help Braden the way she did and any teacher should. I would only recommend this book to anyone who can read curse words and not have a problem with them.

A Sweet Love Story
I enjoyed this book very much. It is about a young public school kindergarten teacher who adores all of her students. She forms a very close bond with one little boy, Brayden, who has been diagnosed with PTSD. Brayden lives with his father, Marcus, a successful businessman. His mother left him several years ago. The story revolves around the three of them. It was so interesting to see how Brayden grew and achievements he made. This is a sweet love story with very few errors and the best part, the epilogue. I very much recommend this stand alone book and look forward to reading more of this author’s writing.

If you love kids, then you'll love reading this book.
Great story line, with a little suspense, but not much. Emma teaches kindergarten in the public school district in Portland. Marcus is having issues with juggling being a single parent, finding a decent nanny and keeping his son Brayden enrolled in kindergarten. He's been kicked out of private schools for not being a good fit. So Brayden has some behavior issues, but Marcus refuses to hear it . He knows he's got a good kid, and he know's he's not perfect but he doesn't know how to handle it and make it better.Emma wants to help, but Marcus' pride prevents him from accepting that help.Eventually she breaks him down, and they begin to communicate. While this book is tagged a romance book, there is a little of that, but not a lot, it is a clean book for the most part, with some substance abuse mentioned.Overall it was well worth the time it took to read it, I was able to relate to most of the characters, except Marcus' parents, which are portrayed the way most rich and self-entitled people are.

Very boring read
Started out fine but dragged on and on with nothing exciting happening between the two main characteristics until the last quarter or so. And I hated the surprise ending as it relates to the heroine's best friend, Seth, since he was such a likable character, even more likable than the heroine herself. All in all, the writing itself wasn't bad and the story could have been a good one. Just that it could have been cut by at least 25%. There were too many insignificant details. I felt like the story went both fast and slow. I honestly cannot recommend this book. It just was not enjoyable.

Sweet, Clean Story
This was a sweet story with no sex. If you love children, then you will love this book. Emma is a kindergarten teacher in the public school system. She loves the children and is a good teacher. We see some of the challenges with the children, but mostly with the parents. Emma has a soft spot for Brayden. Brayden's father, Marcus, is a busy lawyer who doesn't return Emma's calls regarding her concerns about Brayden. There are many other things happening in the story with Emma, Emma's sister, and Emma's two best friends. They also have interesting stories going on. I enjoyed the book and the stories that were unfolding in the book. I was very frustrated with Marcus' parents. They were the embodiment of snobby, rich people. I also enjoyed reading how Emma was looking for love and trying too hard at times. I also liked seeing how Marcus learned to trust and love again.

It was ok.
It kept my attention and I wanted to finish it but it seemed to leave out or not develop personalities enough. In my opinion for example: Marcus make a radical personality change which didn't seem fully explained to be believed. Also, Emma's family as kind of side light, I'm not sure how they ended up in the predicament they were in. Still an interesting read.

How to get engaged to a hot guy without trying
I am a retired special education teacher and found this book to be realistic and believable from an educational point of view.Initially I disliked Marcus because he ignored his child Brayden's needs. I was anxious to find out why Brayden's mother was not around and it took half of forever to get that answer.Marcus was an interesting character after Emma chipped away at the ice house he had built around himself.Emma's best friend (female) was a bore and bitch but served a purpose to help tell the tale. Her best friend (male) was a great guy and a wonderful support. He also adds a lot to the story and throws in a but of a shocker near the end of the book.Emma finally finds a guy who doesn't desert her but we hardly get to see her experience happiness when the book just ends.If you don't like details about sex, thus book is for you. It's very mild. Perhaps boring for some.

A Good Story...Maybe a little too cute.
This was a really cute story. Marcus and Brayden, his son are trying to overcome the loss of Brayden's mother. Marcus has had numerous nannies and has had his son thrown out of many private schools. Marcus is unable to connect with his son. Brayden has PTSD after being rescued from a house fire when he was 2 years old. Along comes Brayden's new teacher, Emma Hewitt. It took a long journey before Brayden's problems are more or less solved. Marcus and Emma spend time together and fall in love when she agrees to be Brayden's teacher for the summer. The characters are likable and Braden is a strong kid. It's a cute story....maybe a little too cute for me, but still an enjoyable read with a believable HEA.Good reading to allretired to read

Ok but not great
This was an interesting enough read and it was reasonably well written. The characters were ok to a degree. The downsides I found with this book were some grammatical mistakes, mainly missing words that made the sentences not read all that well. Some of the characters just came across as shallow. Emma, the main character, came across as shallow at times but mainly she came across as incredibly dense. Specifically when it came to her sister. If you haven’t read this book then I won’t post spoilers but I was exasperated by Emma especially towards the end of the book.I don’t think I will follow up on any other books by this author.

A Lovely Book
I really enjoyed this book. Maybe a bit predictable but never mind. Emma is a young teacher who recognises one of her small pupils is suffering after being involved in a terrible fire. Marcus, his father, refuses to accept this and it takes all Emma's professionalism to get through to Marcus. Emma has not been very lucky in love but things could be about to change as she gets closer to Marcus and Brayden. A very worthwhile romance to read while on holiday or during the dark winter days.

TOO SLOW AND TOO TAME
I enjoyed the beginning of this book and I felt it had possibilities but the more I read the more disappointed I got. It was so slow and I felt too much emphasis was put on Brayden the child and not enough on the relationship between Marcus and Emma. Nothing really happened until near the end between them and then it finished too quick! I like my books to have some detail but also to be fairly fast paced to get to the point, but this book was sadly lacking. Also far too tame for me as I like my books to be dark and the sex must be part of the equation in any love story which this was also lacking in. So not for me and I was very disappointed.

Sweet, but too long and drawn out
This was a freebie and thank goodness it was.Its a sweet story, but its long and very drawn out. Im only half way through, but a lot of stuff could have been missed out. The story should be finished by now.I already know whats going to happen in the end as it is predictable..If you have nothing else to read, then do read this. But dont expect anything amazing.

Enjoyable!
I enjoyed this one, the chapters from the two main characters points of view. I liked the little details along the way that made up the story that made it seem even more believable, also with an unexpected twist or two along the way that I don't want to give away and spoil it with. It can easily be read as a standalone but I'm about to download book 2 to read Luke's story now.
