Mountain Home Biological P3 Classroom Owl Pellet Kit

I purchased this for my 3rd/4th grade homeschool nature studies group (23 students). It includes tons of resources, teacher's guide, and explains things easily for the lay person to teach from. Fascinating for the students. Three heavy posters are included for easy reference (I used painter's tape to put these on the wall for easy reference) plus the book offers different ways to analyze depending on age/grade/ability. The first class we dissected and identified as much as possible. The second class we used the bones we dissected to try and form whole skeletons on white paper, then compared to the included charts. Note, at first I thought the probes wouldn't be as useful as tweezers but they actually work much better. This kit is a tremendous value.

I used this with a class of second grade students. They loved examining the owl pellets and learning about the eating habits of owls. They even wanted to take the owl pellets home.

This is a great kit and it was a fun activity for the girls, but there are only 15 pellets. It does say that in the description, but I was focused on the fact that it was for up to thirty students. I should have read more closely. We needed enough to cover 45 girls so we ended up working in groups of 2 or 3.

When I purchased this item I thought that I was going to receive what was in the picture.I scheduled the delivery due to it being a live product.When it arrived, I received a styrofoam container with the bugs and that was it.So in my opinion, the ad is deceptive.

An excellent value. Pellets were medium to large. Posters and other materials were great. Will definitely reorder in the future.

My class loved these. They found so many bones, skulls, feathers, etc.
