I;m not sure about the type of plastic, but I can tell you they are "flimsy" and don't last through even one use. Look for a thicker version, in my opinion, as they cracked on the sides and were useless first time we used them with just minimal seedling soil in them.

Q: The trays with holes don't have holes in them, they have a few tiny little slits drilled through them, is that enough to let enough water in?

Yes. they will drain any excess water or soak up any water underneath of them.

Q: What is the tray size exactly?

It tells under description, specifications. 1020 is an industry (garden) standard and you can search and identify other items which fit the 1030 trays. There are different type trays, some with holes, some without and many different size cells for holding planting medium. If you search 1020 accessories, there will be Hu dress of options.
