I was scolded by my boyfriend’s nurse for not ordering his colostomy bags through the home health agency and instead chose Amazon. They are identical to the ones we receive direct from Hollister. These actually had a later expiration date than the ones from the manufacturer. This was great for when we ran short on bags and needed a quick fix. Good price as well!

I started out with Hollister products in the hospital; however when I got discharged; I found out that Hollister was not in my insurance network and had to go with other products. Unfortunately the bags leak; I’ll probably still use them but I guess I should have ordered the pouches too. Am disappointed though when I first started using the bags; they didn’t leak

The reason is cost savings. The bags last longer than the wafer so you don't have to throw them both away every time you change the wafer. Also, using the belt and an 7805 adapter I go from a minimum of 7 days to a maximum of 21 so far depending on activities. Recommend using a small black binder clip available any where office supplies are sold as a backup to the velcro closure. So bottom line: Marketing 5 Stars.

Velcro closure is the way to go. I tried other systems in the hospital and liked this best. Be sure to get the belt to go with it.
