Quality built.
You get what you pay for. This is heavy metal and waterproof. Not the junk plastic underwater lights they sell. Worth the money.

Solid construction, good design
I’d rate this a first class - heavy bronze with a very nice seal. Easy to add the light via four screws.

Gardenreet brass pond light
I have several lights from Gardenreet and I really like them. This company builds top quality lights meant to install easily, perform well, and last a long time. They aren't cheap and that's the whole point, they are built to last. The light is extremely heavy by design and has a horseshoe looking base to keep it securely in place. I like the versatility in the pivot range. The power cord is stout and 25 feet long. It is an AC low voltage light as it is designed to be an underwater light. YOU MUST HARDWIRE THIS LIGHT. You do have to purchase a light bulb as one is not supplied. I chose a soft white 2700 K 5 watt bulb.I am happy with this light as it performs well for me and I have no doubt that it will be around for a long time.

One solid light! Remember it takes 12 volts.
This beast is heavy, weighing in at over 3 lbs without the cord. Lots of heavy brass making one heavy lamp. It will not float to the top!The supplied cord (25ft) is heavy gauge and might confuse some folk. This is not for regular 120 volt AC power but instead is for 12 (twelve) volts. Has to be used with a transformer as many outdoor lighting systems are.It takes a standard M16 lamp (not included) so the brightness this kicks out could vary depending on the specific lamp you install. There are four screws holding in the cover, with what looks to be a good gasket to hold out water if you will be placing it in a pond for example. The frame has a pivot on it with thumbscrews so you can adjust the angle of the beam. Note that the power cord extends out a bit from the backside of the housing so if you mount this on a flat surface, pointing the beam directly upward may not be possible without bending that cord a good bit. Expect to be offset about 20 degrees from vertical.Well constructed light. Supply your own M16 bulb. Anticipate the beam not pointing straight up unless you mount it with some additional clearance under the base.

solid construction, but could have been much better
This is a really solidly built light that can certainly withstand pond water, however, 2 things really annoyed me about this package.1. it would have cost next to nothing for the manuf to include a bulb. instead, it's a royal pain to find the right ones. the instructions do not clearly indicate 120v MR13 bulbs, and when you search for MR13, most of the searches turns up low voltage landscape lights (which will not work).2. it does not come with a plug. I understand that there's some desire to be able to thread it through a wall or something, but include a darn plug!without a bulb, and no plug, this light just feels like a poor value for something that's on the expensive side.

Very solid, high quality light fixture
This is a really solid light fixture. I say "solid" because its body is made out of cast brass and it weighs 2 pounds. This is important to me because I placed it in my pond and it stays in place without needing to be weighed down with a stone or attached to something else to keep it from floating away. (This was my biggest problem with my old plastic body pond light.)Construction and materials are top quality - it has a thick glass lens and robust silicon gasket that seal things up perfectly. However, you do need to supply your own MR16 light - I guess they did it this way to let each person choose their own favorite lighting. I appreciate this because I only want a 20W lamp for my smallish pond (I see a lot of other lamps that run a full 50W). Also, be aware this is for a low voltage (12V) landscape system - make sure your transformer can handle whatever bulb you decide to install. No instruction manual came with the light, but installing the bulb is not difficult. However, pay attention when you disassemble it keeping things in order so you can get it back together again (correctly). This is what I did:1) Place the spring first.2) Snap the bulb into the connector.3) Fit the gasket on to the bulb (the glass lens will protrude out).4) Seat the bulb and gasket into the housing (pressing against the tension of the spring).5) Place the bezel/cover on top making sure everything is seated properly (the glass lens should sit flush with the bezel.6) Install the 4 screws to seal the housing.7) Hook up to your 12V landscape lighting system.
