This book arrived quickly, and is in perfect condition. I'm very happy with it! It is the final book in the Story of the World History Curriculum - very different from the first three, but still very good. Should be purchased along with the activity book.

Just as I expected great book would recommend you get the activity book to get the most out of it. Gonna probably end up buying the over volumes.

Engaging style, as it is told as a story. Bauer doesn't abandon a region of the world, instead returning to them frequently to highlight world movementsh as independence, conflict, and national identity.The book is definitely aimed at students with the knowledge to absorb a narrative approach, as it does not dwell on concrete chronologies to history.

We bought the book to go with the audio CDs of the series, as some of us learn better if we can follow along while we listen. The whole set of 4 makes a nice quick overview of history of the world without boring or bogging one down. Intended for elementary age children but enjoyed by all the adults in this household as well!
