Why is this plastic stand $60 usd???

Why is the Inline power switch adapter bundled with the stand and not the actual unit? Seems like a swindle.

Does this work with a headset mic? If I plug in my headset with the built in mic, does it pic up that mic audio, or do I need a separate mic?

How well would this work with the Rodecaster, which is twice as long as goxlr.
