Best in class
There is not another combo set of lantern/flashlight for this price and with this high degree of Lumens and battery life . I returned a $20 3pack of another brand of lanterflashlight similar in function to get this 4pack for $26.99 and am convinced its a decision that looking back should've been easier to make. I purchas d them primarily for multi person bank and spillway fishing and it looks like they're going to light up an area large enough and bright enough to to actually improve the quality of the fishing trip for supposedly 500 more trips using them up to 16hrs at a time at the full 500 lumens they put out that 400 lumens on the lantern leds and 100lumene from the flashlight LEDs. For under $30 it's a no brainier as long as it does what you're expecting it to do of course. You can always return them under warranty anyways but i don't see myself needing to do that as they are very sturdy in the hand and solid and I'm not going to find a better alternative out there....I've looked and taking my lighting seriously on overnight camping and early morning fishing trips I try to make sure I establish the very best lighting situation that the scenario requires without spending more than the situation requires. For safety and sanity sake these lanterns absolutely fit the bill on what I hope to find when I am shopping for a necessity and that is. This products meets all of the important spec requirements I need and costs less than any other similar product.

Good to have for many reasons!
Ordered these after a 4 day power outage this Winter and they are great....light weight, bright light, can hang or sit or be used like a flashlight so are versatile. They come in a 4 pack with batteries for each one. I have placed 2 in locations around the house for back up light if the power goes out again and gave one away. I could also see how they would be great for a camper, tent, other camping events plus sitting outside at night, if one wants light for that. I put one in the car for emergencies too. Great safety item and not expensive. Very pleased with it.

These things are great
I live in hurricane country, and battery operated lights are a must to have around the house. I much prefer lanterns like these that use AA batteries as opposed to D's... less expensive and less space to keep my stash. I've had numerous LED lanterns over the years, and these are by far the best. On 3 AA batteries, they are bright enough to light a room, small enough to easily store and seem to be built sturdy enough to hold up. Well designed, with a minimum number of moving parts, I expect I will have these for years.I ran one of them constantly on the cheap/generic batteries that came with them, and got 5.5 hours on it. I would expect the battery life will be much better with alkaline batteries. All four worked out of the box.

Good little light source, short battery life
I recommend these for their light weight and compact size. Much preferred over the constant noise from a propane lantern but the light dims noticeably after about 5 hours with 3 Amazon Basic AAA batteries. Carry spares and it works great. I will order more for emergency work lights in my vehicles.

A lifesaver during power outages
My single complaint about these is that they're almost too bright. I bought these for use during power outages, and they light up a room like the sun- so much so that looking directly into the emitter is uncomfortable. I typically have to put them up high or behind me, but fortunately the ability to mount them magnetically makes this easy. I can genuinely attach these to the supports under my desk and still have enough light to see everything in the room. I run them on rechargeable AAs that I keep on hand, and I've never had one start to dim or burn out, even with power outages that last the entire evening or into the next day. The top light is nice but it's a little too cumbersome to use as a hand flashlight. The red blinker feels fully extraneous but it doesn't take away from the rest of the package. A pleasant alternative to sitting in the dark in any case.

Winner winner, chicken dinner!
Great all around portable LED lanterns, better yet it's a 4 packer and even comes with batteries. Lots of look alike knock offs out there but don't be fooled, this one is well built and versatile. Hang it, prop it up, stick it to metal, adjust light brightness, butdon't drop it, it's made of plastic.I used it for selling at the flea markets on Sundays when it's still dark, those 4 lights are a blessing, and those flashlight comes in handy when looking for something in my van or under the seat ( Murphy's law says that it will be there). Also as an emergency lights when the power goes out as well.

Sweet Little Lantern/Light!
I have used the older version of the Vont Lantern for a number of years for both camping and running a volunteer check in booth early in the morning when it is dark. Vont made some great improvements in this new Lantern:1) On/off switch - the old lantern could unintentionally turn on if the top was lifted during transport. Now the on/off switch makes it more difficult for the batteries to be mistakenly discharged during transport.2) More handles and hooks. One can find some way some how to hang this lantern on something so the light shines where one wants it.3) Magnetic base. I haven't used this feature yet, but many of my flashlights have it and I like it. Even if you don't stick the base to a piece of metal when the lantern is being used, it is a nice storage feature - like sticking it to the side of the refrigerator.4) Red hazard LED lights on the top.5) Flashlight on the top. There you go, who'd have thunk one could add five improvements to what was already a good little lantern. :-)
