Easy to use, not too heavy. Effective on gravel field.

After building our patio and moving tons of dirt around our back yard, we needed to reseed a rather large area. I purchased a real harrow to better shape what the skid steer left behind, but the end result was not as smooth a surface as we wanted for planting grass seed. So I picked up this mat to tow behind our lawn tractor. The native soil here tends to be just a little more pliable than concrete, so even after many trips pulling the harrow behind my 4x4, this mat barely dented the surface. The solution was a pallet not yet cut up from our recent landscaping, along with 50-60 lbs of stone resting on top. This heavier combination and the sharp edges of the mat sections did a good job of making a much nicer surface for planting seeds. Maybe the four star rating is a little unfair since these lightweight mats are not intended to deal with what I was asking of it, but just a little more weight in the product itself would have been very useful.

This did exactly what I was expecting - probably did a little better than expected, even, as it didn't need weight added as I thought it would. We had to get creative to attach to the tractor, but once we found the right way to get it hooked up so the front bar was low enough, it is perfect for our sand arena. I didn't want a drag with teeth that would go through the sand into the rock base, so this probably won't work for a dirt arena that needs to be ripped up, but it's great for sand.

This is more of a finish drag than a farm tool. Works excellent for finish areas around the house and driveway. But our pocket gopher mounds need something with more weight to it, so I attached and old skid steer tire, works like a champ now.

Much faster than a rake, and easier to get an even surface. Works great hooked to a lawn mower to level sand and top soil in the yard. More durable than expected.Pros:Able to handle a cinder block or two of weight to speed up the process.Fun to surf on behind the lawn tractor at full speed, I mean its able to handle at least 200lbs for a few min.Able to withstand a day of teenager (and teenager like parenting) behavior.Cons:*This obviously could be a result from the items above. The provided rope could be of better quality for long term or heavy duty use (lawn tractor).
