Poor product
This product serves its purpose but in the cheapest way possible. Your iPod WILL get very bad and noticeable scratches from this item. After using it one time, I immediately went out and bought a skin for my iPod to shield it from any more damage. The cloth rubs off really easily onto the iPod causing further damage. It is extremely hard to put the iPod into the strap if you have a fairly thick skin on it.The strap fits nicely and does not move. Some people maybe applying the strap directly to their bicep which is ironically skinnier than the upper part of one's arm. The strap fit snuggly and with plenty of room available for adjustment. I wore the wrap while running a modest 7 minute mile, and it did not present too much hindrance. The strap may feel as if it is coming loose because of the constant bicep/tricpe contraction, but it stays put. The strap stretches a little bit and returns to the original shape when necessary. When the product is older, it will probably loose such elasticity. The headphone jack is a bit difficult to get to, but once you get it in, it doesn't move.Overall, if you don't really care about additional scratches to your iPod, or have a way to shield it, then this product is good for you. If you value the aesthetics of your iPod and will be putting your iPod in here naked, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. You will cry at the amount of scratches.

Exactly what I needed for working out...
I did plenty of research before buying this item. I was looking for a holder for my iPod specifically for working out and this works great. My arms are not huge by any means and you can adjust the size easily with the velcro strap. It has never slipped off or gotten loose on me yet. The plastic overlay has never given me any trouble when adjusting volume or changing menus while working out on an elliptical machine. The ONLY problem I have with it is the headphone jack. I had to take a knife to the armband to cut a small hole so it matches up to where the jack is on the iPOD. Even that has not torn, ripped or fraid from the incision I made. Highly recommended it.***UPDATE 06/2010***After 3 years it's still does the job. I have washed this (in the laundry with jeans & workout wear) numerous times and it's still kickin!Remember that hole I cut in the material....it's never gotten any bigger. I was afraid it would have torn larger through time. Not a bit.Only problems I've seen:Velcro seems to not stick as well...it loosens up every so often when I'm in the middle of a rep.Plastic face is getting warped...probably due to so many trips through the laundry. Let it drip dry also! No dryer!

Nice design
I knew this was meant for the older iPod when I bought it, so as soon as I got it, I had to cut a hole for the headphone jack. To counter a couple of comments made by others:Too much gradual taper: That's actually one of the reasons that I chose this armband. That gradual taper keeps this very stable on your arm.Built for big arms: Not exactly true. It will work with big arms, but those aren't mine. NO ONE is impressed by my biceps, and I have a good 3-4 more inches of available velcro.Cons: The overall design of the velcro is a little poor. There is only about a 2" strip of "male" velcro. The female portion of the velcro has 1/2" gaps. If you're not careful about how you secure it, I can see how it may come off with violent enough activity.Have your music ready to go before you put it in the armband. Trying to adjust your music once its strapped on is very difficult through the thick transparent layer.

Very disappointing and felt like I got ripped off
This thing was supposed to work with all old Ipods but there were no holes for earphones on the top side of the armband, which the last one I ordered had. Very disappointing and felt like I got ripped off.

A good option for listening to your ipod while working out
I bought this for use at the gym, but so far have only used it while doing exercise tapes at home. I have a 40gb 3rd generation ipod. The armband is fairly comfortable, although so largely sized (my arms are about 12-13") that sometimes I have to winch it so hard that it's tight enough to cause a little discomfort. During the workout, I usually adjust in once or twice - perhaps because I am doing tae bo boxing which has a lot of arm movements. The controls are in fact accessible while the ipod is in the case, as long as the hold button is not on. So far, I have not had any problems accessing the controls (increasing volume, changing tracks, etc) nor have I had any problems with unintentional changes due to the hold button not being on.Although there are openings for the earphone jack on both ends, on one of the ends I had a problem with the jack staying in. Also, there were problems with the remote control jack, although by shoving it in there and lifting the neoprene over it a bit, I was able to get it to work.It is a bit hard to read the ipod while it's in the case, so best to just set a playlist and make small adjustments, i.e., volume control, track forward, rather than trying to read through your whole song list while you are wearing the armband. All in all, I am quite satisfied with this product as it fits my needs for being able to listen to my ipod while exercising.

Won't fit the regular Joe's arm
I'm 5'9" and 150 lbs, and this product just won't fit tightly in my arm. I have the 60 GB iPod and even without exercise, it starts slipping down in about two minutes. If you have a 60GB iPod, I'm not sure there are other options. Anyway, I am returning this product.
