Great compilation of songs from yesteryear that will be around forever.

The liner notes state that all songs are sourced from the master tapes or vinyl. That’s positive. You are also getting a lot of music at a great price. You also get a lot of great song picks.Unfortunately, a good many of the songs are not EQ’d well. For those of you who don’t know what this means: In the frequencies of music, there is bass, low-midrange, midrange, high-midrange, and treble. This is the same thing as the bass and treble on your receiver but it’s split more and allows for greater control of sound. Excessive low to high midrange will cause distortion. An Equalizer can also bring that noise down. It is good stuff. But I find it annoying sounding without equalizing.Unfortunately, the selection of equalizers these days is very limited because of the general dumbing down of electronics since the digital age. They used to make them with12 bands and very accurate meters. (by the way, a meter is essential to me, so you can actually see the noise as well as hear it). Now, they make them with generally 10 bands. Audio Source is the only one I’ve seen with a meter. It’s not all that great, but it works if nothing else.This is a real good time to look into an equalizer, because with all the awful sound, like that of the ‘loudness wars’, a good many of these recordings are not totally destroyed but are capable of being cleaned of all the excess mid-range noise they seem to like to put into the mastering.Also, the fact this was put out by Demon Music scared me because of their affiliation with Harmless. Harmless - outside of the Backbeat series - really puts out a lot of destroyed recordings that EQ would do nothing at all for.

Good quality sound, good selection of songs and priced low.

Sono molte le compilation in circolazione che riportano al presente i successi degli anni 80. Questa serie di otto tripli CD, a differenza delle altre, contiene tracce particolari che completano la bellezza del prodotto discografico.

Découvrir ou redécouvrir les versions "Extended" des succès des années 70 / 80 / 90 selon les compilations est une bonne idée.Ici, on retrouve les chansons internationales.Les mêmes CD avec les versions Françaises seraient sympathiques ;-)
