You can write on these with anything that’s similar to a pencil (that shape and size). The surface is like copy paper but thicker of course. I use these in three-ring binders, and they do NOT disappoint! Just what I was looking for!

Worked well for my class

I ordered two boxes of these binder dividers - they will be used to separate songs in choir binders. They are not very heavy duty, I'd call them a lightweight card stock, but adequate for my purpose. My main (and only) complaint is that EACH box was missing one divider - so I actually got 19 4/5 sets instead of 20 (99 sheets total). We'll make do, but a little disappointing.

I rated the product, not the shipping. Shipping this in a soft envelope is a bad idea knowing how shippers handle packages. I had just a few bent corners on one side that straightened out so you can't tell anything happened. These dividers are a quality product that I have ordered two times and a good value for the money.

Now, as long as you know what to expect when you buy these, you will be fine. They are what they are. They are a heavyweight cardstock with little reinforcement at the holes. They are also inexpensive and unless heavily used will probably be just fine for you. That's how I use them and I've been fairly happy with them.
