Baby Lobster Costume - Size 6-18 Months

The hat is WAY too big for an infants head and the elastics on the wrists were so tight they cut into my sons wrists.

Fits my 20 lb 8 month old fine. I paired it with a red turtleneck and red tights. The baby's arms and legs stick out and are not inside the costume, so you will need to do similar. As someone mentioned, the color is a little odd, it's not bright red as you would expect. It's more orangey/pink and light. But it's red enough and adorable enough that I think it's fine for a boy, especially with red clothes underneath.

The velcro fasten on the headpiece is so sharp it cut multiple times into my child's chin and throat. We only found out after she started screaming uncontrollably with pain - she is 11 months old. Doesn't matter how you fasten it - the bottom piece of the velcro sticks out past the top so there is never a flush seal, and this is what causes the dangerous cutting. The velcro is cheap plastic, sharply cut.As another super annoying item, the costume broke on the first try getting it on our kid. We bought the smaller size, and it is clear that the manufacturer cut corners and makes one costume for everyone and then sews the neckseam tighter for the smaller size. Well, that smaller stitch is about as strong as an eggshell and came undone instantaneously. This caused the bottom part of the costume to continually fall off the kid, IN ADDITION to the headpiece cutting her. I strongly advise you to NOT buy this costume. I doubt other costumes from this manufacturer/distributor are quality or safe either because they obviously don't test or inspect them. I have reported this costume to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission because the cuts were numerous, deep, and literally unavoidable because of the positioning of the headgear and the velcro.

The body of the costume is great. It is made like a tube with elastic at either end. That is how it fits such a a large variety of sizes. If you have a young baby, the head will be too big. We did a little modification to make it work for our 2 month old.
