Davis Degrease Pet Shampoo

I picked this one after reading all the great reviews and thank goodness I did! My kids were trying to “help” by bathing our Doberman. In their rush, one of them grabbed the leather conditioner instead of dog shampoo. So now we’ve got a Doberman who looks and smells like a freshly waxed recliner. Dawn didn’t work. I panicked and coated him in corn starch like I was prepping him for the fryer. That helped a little, but the grease was still hanging on for dear life. Once this shampoo arrived, it was game over for the goo. It cut through the mess, left him soft and shiny, and he finally stopped sliding off the furniture. Bonus: the bathwater looked like it came from an auto shop. He had just been washed with Dawn the day before, so I didn’t expect that much filth. This stuff seriously cleans. Totally worth it.

Miraculous find to remove sappy residue on Great Pyrenees when regular dog shampoo and cleaning products did not work. Goggled how to remove sappy residue from dog’s fur along with being made in USA. Bingo, this product came up with terrific reviews and it truly does work with easy directions, pleasant smelling for my pup and me too; super easy to apply with a luxurious soft cream and within a few minutes of application the sticky residue disappeared and beautiful white coat is back with such softness and brightness; highly recommend and huge thank yous to the dedicated dog lovers making such a grand product! Beyond a 5 star rating!!

I have beagles, and like any hound dog, they are stinky! I have shampoo specific for hound dogs but they still weren't getting completely clean because they had an oily texture to their coat, even with monthly baths, so I would have to bathe them twice which kills my back. This degreaser is still a two-step process for me but instead of scrubbing them down twice I just rub the degreaser on their coat, which isn't as physically demanding as actual scrubbing them for a bath, rinse them down after a few minutes and then use the hound shampoo. The degreaser is actually decreasing the dogs' coats making the hound shampoo more effective and the bathing process is now less physically demanding. I definitely recommend it!

This works great on my Yorkie! It makes her soft and she looks clean.

I’ve been using this product for years. It is perfect for those greasy Yorkies and older dogs.

The shampoo itself works to degrease and rinses well. It eliminates smells for sure. It was hard to dissolve in warm water. It’s not easy to use for a groomer because I had to stop and use two wet hands to fumble around to open and close the screw top lid. I tried putting it in a squirt bottle but it too thick. Maybe some repackaging or reformulating needs to happen to make it work better.

Coming back for a second order. I ran out a month or so ago and noticed a huge difference in using other shampoos on my Yorkie. This shampoo is the best! Recommended by a dog groomer and I will atest to how well this product works and leaves my Yorkie with a soft and shiny coat. It dissolves every sticky thing my dog gets into when he is outside rolling around in the grass. Highly recomended.

I have an old cat that has the double layer of fur like a husky and no matter how many baths he had he always looked dirty after. I used this shampoo and he’s 100% clean. He doesn’t look greasy and dirty at all. I was surprised by the consistency of it but it lathered fine. I’ll use this product from here on out for this cat. I’m honestly wondering how well it would work on my greasy hair. Has anyone used it on themselves????

Have only used it once so far. Certainly removed grease stains on my cat.

This thick gel works great. I diluted 1/4 cup shampoo with about 6 parts warm water. I didn't even use it all to wash my XL fluffball. A little goes a long way. With the first wash, his fur already felt stripped of oil. I did a second application out of habit, but I think we could have done without it. The nice orange scent did not transfer to the dog. He just smelled like dog after his bath. Maybe if used full strength? Also, it rinses well, but it leaves the shower floor more slippery than other dog shampoos. Can't use it on the face so we need to keep another shampoo on hand. He remained fluffy and clean feeling for almost a month after. I do not use a conditioner on him.

We have a tiny silky drop-coat Yorkie and decided to try out the Davis Degrease product that we saw in a grooming video online. The result was amazing! She is so soft and fresh smelling...the best part being that now, days later she still feels so soft and silky and retains the just washed scent with no greasy feeling at all. We have only used this product once as we just bought it last week, but we are thrilled with the level of clean we have achieved. We shampooed her first with our regular product then applied less than a diluted teaspoon of the Davis Degreaser with a mesh sponge letting the product sit on her coat for a few minutes. This product acts as a clarifying shampoo and really delivers.

I have a very oily hairless cat. He gets stained easily. I find Dawn dish soap gets most of those stains out. The only real difference is The cat felt cleaner for almost a week. His skin was really soft. I will stick with this product for that reason alone. Wish it could really get out tough grease stains on the cat's skin.

We have a 95 lb German Shepherd/Husky mix dog. He has quite greasy skin. He gets a funky smell and gets quite itchy if he isn't bathed regularly. This degreaser shampoo is the best thing we've found so far for our dog (we've tried lots of shampoos). It cleans him up, makes his hair soft, and has the longest-lasting effect. We can shampoo him once a month now. With other shampoos, we had to shampoo him again within 2-3 weeks. Love this shampoo!
