The Science of Speed The Art of the Sprint: AAU Edition

A bit brief but superb information
I’ll put my criticism up front: the books a bit pricey for the volume of information. Putting that aside, I have a PhD and I’ve taught undergrad biomechanics, and I learned from this book. If you’re a coach for track sprinters you need this book. If you’re an endurance coach for running, you need this book. It is built on great science and quality coaching experience. It’s easy to follow and a great resource for any coach or athlete.

Must read for sports performance coaches
This is a fantastic resource. Even with a decade of experience in this field I gained knowledge from this book. Anyone in sports performance / strength & conditioning should read it. The way it breaks down technique is simple enough for most athletes to understand. I’ve even lent it out to a few of my athletes, and modeled my own athletes.

Outstanding resource!
Loved everything about this book! Very practical and easy to understand especially with the photos. I am not an anatomy/biology person by any means and was very much so able to understand it! Wish I had this earlier in my 15 years of coaching but definitely will be using this as a resource going forward. Can't recommend it enough!

A Great Book for Coaches Trying to Learn More About Sprint Coaching and Body movement
I am a distance coach trying to more accurately wrap my head around sprint training and this was perfect for me. Aside from a chapter on psychics that was slightly confusing, the book was extremely lucid and helpful in explaining concepts about technique and training philosophy. I appreciated the fact that it was clearly written with coaches in mind and had very helpful "coaching cues" sprinkled throughout. The only reason I gave it four stars rather than five...I think it should have been longer. I would have loved to see more insight from these authors particularly on the application of these concepts. That said, part of the reason why I think the book is so readable is its brevity...it says what it needs to say and gets out. I definitely recommend it!

Arrived in a timely manor
Along with a little help from Carl Lewis, arguably one of the all-time greatest athletes Coach T has published his recent book on Sprinting. There are some very important technical knowledge bombs in here related to the bio-mechanics of running fast and lot of basic coaching information. This is a vital read for all Track Coaches.

interesting
interesting and some good information, but don't think it justifies the price. I had expected more. if you have a little knowledge of sprinting, it will add some more information

Ottimo ma non per tutti
Molto tecnico nelle descrizioni con richiami di fisica del movimento. Richiede conoscenze in materia perché sia fruibile al meglio. Ottimo libro, non per tutti.

The most succinct and effective coaching advice on sprinting you will find.
Brilliant book - 140 pages of brilliant advice on how to coach speed in an athlete ... primarily focussing on sprinting, but every coach/athlete can learn from it.
