She Hulk is great
The stories are pretty great. Wish the tv series was more like the ordinal stories, they are making it too corny.

Not the same cover as advertised
Love the writing on this one but one thing I should warn about is that this did not come with the direct market cover but instead the standard edition luckily I love frank Cho artwork but it’s still false advertising please change the cover to not disappoint future buyers

From protecting copyrights to smashing fourth walls!
Marvel Comics had long resisted the "female spin-off" of popular male heroes, unlike DC Comics with Supergirl and Batgirl. But by the mid-1970s, the wind had shifted. Red Sonja, Ms. Marvel and Spider-Woman all appeared with their own titles. The Incredible Hulk television series was quite popular at this time on CBS, and Marvel feared that Universal would so something along the lines of what they did with the Bionic Woman-a female spin off that was not included in the original Six Million Dollar Man source material. So in 1980, Stan Lee wrote the first issue of the Savage She-Hulk. Illustrated by the amazing John Buscema, we find that Bruce Banner had a younger cousin in Los Angeles, in the guise of petite attorney Jennifer Walters. Banner just so happens to be with Jen when tragedy strikes and he is forced to give her a blood transfusion. After Banner bails out to the tune of The Lonely Man, Jen is recovering in the hospital when the goons who shot her decide for a do-over...and that makes her very angry. With the first issue penned by Stan, stalwart writer David Anthony Kraft took the writing reins, along with artist Mike Vosburg, who would be known for his EC Comics homage covers in the 80's/90s Tales from the Crypt TV series on HBO. Kraft fleshes Jen out a bit more, giving her a General Ross/J. Jonah Jamesonesque antagonist in the guise of her father, the duly elected sheriff of L.A. County, Morris Walters. Be advised that these early issues has Jen hulking out a la David Banner, but her characterization is closer to the original Stan Lee/Jack Kirby Hulk of the 60s'-gruff but articulate and intelligent. Makes sense as her own father was hunting her down without knowing who she was. Kraft brings in some old characters like Richard Rory, Hellcat and future husband John Jameson as Man-Wolf. Michael Morbius even shows up, in his depowered phase, and is instrumental in setting Jen down the road that differentiated her from her cousin mostly. Her rogue's gallery never really developed beyond some diamonds in the rough, with Jen tackling a Jordan Petersonesque cult leader with a buff blonde daughter named Ultima. In this day and age of online charlatans professing freedom with a forked tongue, I'd like to see The Word return with Ultima for some social media payback against She-Hulk. But tears would flow and I digress...While some of these stories are fairly silly compared to her later adventures in The Avengers and Byrne's Fantastic Four run or the original Sensational She-Hulk graphic novel, they're worth checking out. The art is good. John Buscema gave her a wild woman look that is reminiscent of some of his Conan work, and her original "torn nitey" is reminiscent of Raquel Welch in One Million Years B.C. Jen's original look has changed as well-the 70's bob and scarf and bell bottoms combo is actually back in style. If you wanna take a deep dive into a character that will soon be getting massive exposure on Disney+, start here.

Different Cover as shown
5 stars for the series. 3 stars because I received a different cover as advertised. Cover is ok but I would of preferred the John Buscema cover as shown. I've seen other reviews about the same issue. I wonder if Amazon is aware of this?

Savage, but Spectacular She-Hulk
I haven’t finished reading this tome (I’m only halfway thru), but so far it has been an enjoyable experience. I love the She-Hulk and her alter ego Jennifer Walters. I also like the supporting characters and the plots and subplots in these issues. The stories, written by David Anthony Kraft, are dynamic and engaging; the artwork by Mike Vosburg is a feast for the eyes; it is full of energy with larger than life splash pages and panels (Stan Lee and John Buscema write and illustrate the first issue). This omnibus includes essays by David Anthony Kraft, fan mail (which I love to read), and original artwork by Vosburg, and even a copy of DAK’s draft for the #2 issue of Savage She-Hulk.A little slight occurred, however. My volume’s hardcover is upside down. But big deal! I enjoy these stories so much and the character development that it won’t bother me at all. After all, it has a jacket. Good purchase, though!
