Fabulous book - I come from the area but now live in the UK but having the recipes for those favorites of mine with an American flavor can't be beat. Efficient service - got my book in no time at all.

One of the Best Books on Italian American Cookery.
I bought this on Amazon.com many years ago. It's still one of the most consistently good books on Italian American cookery that I've ever used. The big advantage of this is that the recipes are all simple, relying on the quality of a small variety of ingredients, rather than trying to be fashionable. I can't speak to the quality of her other books, but this one is very good.

Fantastic!
A few months ago I tried out a recipe for Penne alla Vodka from this book that was listed on epicurious.com. The directions were extremely easy to follow and the dish was positively delicious. Since then I had been raving about Lidia and her recipe to any cook who would listen.My mother and mother-in-law must have taken notice as I received two copies for Christmas this year. I have branched out to make several dishes from the book now and all have been thoroughly enjoyed. Don't miss out on the recipe for Sunday sauce (gravy) and the excellent instructions on seemingly intimidating techniques.As a transplanted New Yorker currently living in London, I say with confidence that this cookbook is a must for anyone who has ever enjoyed a meal at one of the Bastianich family restaurants (Becco, Felidia, etc.) or just wants to learn how to make fabulous, comforting Italian-American food. I will be buying this book as a gift for friends for the forseeable future.

Mal was anderes, italienisch-istrische Küche aus Amerika
Ich habe das Buch eigentlich nur gekauft weil die Köchin gebürtige Istrianerin (heute Kroatien) ist und ich mir erhofft habe, ein wenig was von diesem Landstrich im Buch zu finden. Und ich tat es. Es ist nett geschrieben und merkt recht schnell dass sie ihr Handwerk versteht. Die Rezepte sind vielfältig von istrisch bis typisch italienisch bis amerikanisch-italienisch. Es gibt Anpassungen an den amerikanischen Geschmack, was ganz interessant ist. Aber was mir noch sympathischer ist, man findet in fast jedem Rezept auch das Original wieder, also die einfachere italiensiche Version. Von istrischen Bratkartoffeln, Pasta, Pizza, Fleisch, porcetta, Polenta, Fisch und Meersefrüchte, Salaten und Antipasti, süßes bis hin zu Zubereitungstipps, ein tolles Buch wenn man italienische moderne und klassische Küche mag und den istrischen Hintergrund der Köchin zu schätzen weiß

Recipes are easy to follow and delicious
Lidia's recipes are doable in a real kitchen by anyone! Grazia! I do wish there were more pictures to show how the dish should look. The recipes I made are yummy! I watch Lidia on PBS to see how she does things. Lidia has taught me to new things to cook, and better ways to cook!

This is a great cook book
This is a great cook book. Lidia's recipes are so dependably delicious, and the photographs are beautiful. Love the informational guides on certain techniques.
