This has been my go-to for years. I have had it for almost a decade. I had to replace it, because I kind of submerged the first one in water by accident. It still kind of half works, but the display lags and doesn't show right.But other than me breaking one that was working perfectly for 8 years, it's been flawless. I use it daily to check the temp of food I'm microwaving, pans I'm heating up, dough in proofing.The ONLY time it has failed me was when I was trying to test the inside of a traditional pressure cooker. I think the surface texture was too reflective, and it read the temp as way lower than it was. But that's literally once in 8 years that it failed me.Love this. Will keep it forever.

I got this for my fish and oh boiii it so accurate it takes temperature in the water and hot water I would highly recommend this product if u guys got reptiles and trying to see the temperature this one of the best items I got and also water proof and drop proof bc I drop it in my fish tank and it still worked I was so surprised that I still worked after getting water inside of the product highly recommend so don’t listen to the bad reviews 10/10

Great product, does what it's supposed to and super easy to use. The main problem, if you are using this around steam of any kind, the accuracy immediately goes out the window. I originally purchased this specifically for dealing with hot liquids and my initial impressions were strong, did what I asked it to do, but upon further testing I discovered that steam severely distorts the sensor reading. Now I'm not talking giants gusts of steam out of a geyser here, I mean like the amount of steam coming off the top of a coffee cup on a cooler morning. The temperature fluctuates wildly as steam passes the sensor, to the point that getting an instant read thermometer to double check the accuracy shows differences of around 10 to 15 degrees in the readings. Some people will argue that liquid isn't this devices forte but I have to point out in the product description that it distinctly uses several examples of being used on liquids. So in terms of doing what it can, it works as intended, for reliable accuracy around hot objects, might need to invest in an electric fan.

Purchased this IR thermometer to measure the temp of both my kettle charcoal grill and my blackstone. This one in particular was recommended to me by a friend who has the same one. From what I can tell it works fine with no issues - quick to measure and easy to read. Being able to turn on the laser pointer helps to make sure you are pointing it at exactly what you want to measure. I can't really comment on the accuracy. However I did compare against a medical IR thermometer I also own and there was a variance of a few degrees.

I saw one of my favorite chefs using a temperature gun for more accurate sautéing and decided to try it. I think it has helped in several ways. I heat the stainless steel pan before adding oil, then add the oil and check that the temperature has reached about 325 degrees before adding food to the pan, after adding food I am able to check the cooking temperature and adjust it. As a result food does not stick to my stainless steel pans and the food has a better sear on it. The temperature gun can stay on so you can monitor temperature in different areas of your pan or you can point to one area to see the temperature. The temperature gun turns off automatically so you don't have to worry about running down the battery. I would definitely recommend this item.

This temperature gun is a must have for cooking on a Blackstone or any other griddle. It shows where hot and cooler spots are on the griddle so you can plan your cooking areas for food. If you're new to cooking on a griddle, like we were, this temperature gun will make things so much easier. It has worked perfectly so far.

Was using this out to determine if my AC is functioning properly. If worked perfectly for my needs. My cat started going crazy and I realized, she loved the built in laser sight. So very useful to me and a lot of fun for my cat.

Amazing gadget to check the temperature anywhere, just point to the area and it gives you the reading, I will try it when I cook my turkey this holiday and check the temperature.

Arrived well packaged in a sturdy box the inside moulded to the shape of the device and also the battery. The space for the battery was empty. The battery had been stuffed into the device where it is supposed to fit when it is connected but as it wasn't connected it had been forced. I unsealed the battery and connected it up and found the device was not working. I checked the voltage on the battery ang found it to be 7.5volts. Flat. A fresh battery was sourced and the device worked. I'm very pleased with the thermometer but the battery is rubbish. I would have definitely posted 5 stars had it not been for that. The backlight is very useful. Buy it without the battery.

Brought this item for use with a bearded dragon which I'm planning on getting. Due to the animal being a reptile a specific heat is required so need something that would give accurate readings, I have had no trouble with this product and it appears to be working great from what i can tell the readings are good for a good priced product

Would be lost with out it now, very good and very cheap, use it all the time in cooking..

As a chef its used daily and works well tested against a contact probe

I received a thermometer, which was previously returned (used) and, more importantly, inaccurate. Readings were all over the map. See the photo showing a reading of 40 degrees off the kettle, while the actual temperature is 58 degrees. Temperature readings off my forehead were ranging from 24 degrees to 30, instead of 36. Based on the number of positive reviews, I can only assume that the unit I received was defective, which is why someone else had returned it! It it irritating that Amazon simply re-sold it without checking.
